Why would you set the number at zero and take the under? You realize that is a bet you can't win?

Jeremy responded to my e-mail in a very positive and very very quick manner. Ten minutes after I sent the e-mail he said that if we can get two players willing to play 10/20 that the casino will deal us heads up. He suggested 10/20 because he felt, and I think most of the people on here agree, that this is the stake that will have the best chance of getting other people in the casino to join. He suggested that if we plan to do it on Fri or Sat that we should try to start the game before 6 pm.
Jeremy has provided everything we could have hoped for in about 10 minutes and I'm very happy that the Horseshoe hired him as their poker room manger. If we can't get a 10/20 LHE game going now the fault is clearly with us. He even said the room will provide us with food if we can get a full table.

I'm willing to play heads up, but I would prefer more because I think other players at the casino would be more likely to join if the game had more than 2players.
This week I can commit to play Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun. Thur I could not start till about 6:30 pm but any other day I could play anytime after 2 pm. I'm not committing to play all four days, I'm merely saying that the days I can commit are somewhat flexible. I could probably play Wed but I'm not entirely sure.
I think others should post the times this week they would be willing to commit to playing and we should try and get a 10/20 game going this week. Thanks to Jermey and everyone else and I hope to see everyone at a 10/20 game very soon.

There will be a stop on the 2013 schedule apparently.

I am in. If its HU we should play 20/40 or bigger. But if you want to play 20 HU just to start interest then I am in. I also think that 8/16 is a good sized game wehre we might get more people and can easily convert to 10/20 or 12/24.

I am not sure if we have odd $ chips like $10 or $4 or $2 but if we get a game going I am sure they will get the correct chips.

ALSO_____-----____-

This one is for people I know and a few I have no idea what their names are. But if I am playing 1/2 PLO with you guys, DO NOT tell the fish how bad they are for playing A952 one suit or calling to the river with 449J and making sets. They are the reason I/we play the game so be nice and just say "nice hand".

Why not just have a time rake like they do for the higher stakes no limit games?

Does anyone know about the $49/night special at the Ritz? I've heard a few out of town visitors mention it in the poker room. Have a friend from Chicago coming into town.

How far is that from the casino?

Looks like the Ritz might be sold out of the promotion rooms. The Rennesaince has $29 rooms this weekend if you book through the Horseshoe's Website. Here's the link.

Went over the weekend to the Shoe for some recreational 1/2 nlhe. A few notes:

-Signed up online for a Total Rewards card. Figured I could get one mailed to me. I could not. I was informed I should print out a temporary card and pick it up in the casino. I arrived at the casino just after noon on Sunday. The line to pick up the Total Rewards card was effing insane. I went with my brother who already had one, so I did not need the card to get free parking, but the mechanism for this is just awful.
-I was seated quickly, as I went at a non-peak hour. I went to the cage which seemed to have a trainee that was extremely unconfident.
-I heard of the chip running issues earlier, so I just bought more than $200 so I could top off instead of counting on chip running.
-Yes, the rake is ridiculous
-Dealers were in general 'average.' There were a few that kept the game moving well, and a few that kept talking and not understanding the deck shuffler occasionally miscounted the cards and just needed reshuffled.
-Beverage service is mediocre at best. There seems to be no system to the servers going around, and when you do ask for something, they struggle to remember where the person that ordered the item was.

Basically, I get the impression that the casino is what it is. It's a blatant money machine. High rake, no water fountains - there's not even wi-fi.

I'm sure I'll make it back for the occasional visit when I have free time upon visiting family in Cleveland, but by no means is it a destination.

Went and started a 10/20 list and a 20/40 stud list and played PLO for the night. Only one other play signed up for 10/20 limit and didnt want to play HU (I honestly didnt want to either). So no interest today.

Wha?

I think I'm missing something. $7/pot for $60+ pots.

Are you saying you expect 45 pots/hour over $60????

Many dealers seemed incapable of pushing out 20 hands/hour (lol). One down we probably had 10 hands after all the misdeals, chitchat, etc..

Is limit raked differently or is this some kind of "new math"...

I believe it depends on the demand for the room on that day/how good your credit is with pit bosses... friends from Rivers were visiting during the week, hadn't even been playing much yet (and no table games), and they managed to get free rooms for a few days at the Ritz.

I had family over for this past Sat-Mon, and even though it's the weekend, I've been putting in enough hours that familiar floor was able to get me a room for one of the nights. When I asked about poker room rates for the second night, after being bounced around to a lot of different people, one person told me I had to ask the Rewards desk because it depended on my tier level (line was too long for me to ask/care), while another told me it depended on the availability of rooms.

Point is, I think it varies.

I think he's saying $6 rake + $1 for BBJ + $1 for tip = $8/hand.
At 40 hands/hour, he is saying that $320/hour is coming off the table.

I talked with others who don't count the BBJ or tip. Why not? It's still money coming off the table.

(Now, if you want to dispute 40 hands/hour, or that each hand will be max raked, that's a different discussion).
