A $60 (including rake) scooped pot makes it a $10-$20 kill. Banter is lively (which is one of the reasons I play), everyone knows each other, but new players are definitely welcomed and encouraged. A couple of the old timers know 75% of the players in the room so sometimes it becomes a reunion for them. Overall we have a lot of fun. A lot of players will travel from Dayton and Columbus to play the game.
Some items to note: Lots of table talk, mainly lying, which is permitted. Also there are some players who have heads up check down agreements which is odd looking at first, but not collusion. They do it every time no matter what hands they have.
Action I would say is more passive than aggressive especially preflop, more loose than tight, but nothing crazy. Very rare to see a re-raise.
Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll keep my eye on the board. I'll be there wearing something Reds since I'm going to the game later, otherwise I'm one of the midnight guys.
There are definitely a few re-raising types but overall I agree. The main table sometimes doesn't fill up with 9 players until 3-5 PM. Also, I would say the second must-move table gets off less than half the time. They usually wait for a full table's worth or more to be on the list, and even then they don't always start one. It's actually really frustrating when you're #7 on the list and you know you won't get in until after 1 AM or so.
A couple other points... If you're a new player, definitely don't join the main table and then take long breaks away from it for dinner, etc. It's a courtesy thing to the players and the list of people who wait hours to play. Also, the pace of play is generally good. However, if you are a slower player, not paying attention to when it's your turn, waiting to look at your 4 cards when it is... these things also will not win you over amongst the table. It's a straight forward limit game and the decisions aren't as tough as PLO or NL, in my opinion.

I always start with $200 but anything over $400 is just ridiculous IMO. No need to start with 3 racks and build an obnoxiously large chip triangle or castle. Build it as you chip up.

I actually prefer using the $2 chips. Playing with $1 chips at Venetian etc is really annoying because the bets are all in multiples of 2 so why not cut the amount of chips at the table in half? $1 chips leads to large stacks and cramped table space IMO. Combining $1 & $5 chips is ok too, but stacking up the $2 chips is a lot quicker to split pots 2, 3 or 4 ways.

I always encourage everyone I play with at 1-2 etc to try it out. It's a lot more fun and I actually play more hands (I'm more of a nit at 1-2). Plus it can be very profitable.

The Saturday 3-6 is fairly soft but it's tough to profit in a 3-6 limit game. Bluffing is virtually impossible here (unlike the 6-12 game). That's a combination of the price to call being so low and the players being bad enough to think their garbage is good.

Easier said than done. We started out with Wednesday, which worked for a while, but that eventually dried up. Friday works well for the regs and the 9-5'ers who work all week.
