I have only played 2 or 3 of the HW nightlies since their last change simply because of this. I really liked playing 50/50 at both places, but its coming to a point that the 25 min drive vs 5 to the Shoe isnt worth it anymore.

Looks like we are getting shafted again. No Cincy stop on circuit this year.

Ohio won't get one again. The gaming comission won't let Cleveland do it off property and Cincinnati(or the WSOP) won't buy new cameras.

The thing that I don't get is both Ohio casinos and Baltimore are run by Rock Gaming. Why would they not take the steps needed to comply with the OCC? In Cincinnati, it's going to require the ballroom to be fitted with security cameras. This will obviously cost some money, but the potential additional income generated each year would make it with it. Cleveland is a lot more complicated because Dan Gilbert said he was using the Higbee building as a temporary location while the riverfront casino was being built. At this point, it seems like that will never happen. My point is why not ensure that all three casinos have WSOPC every year? Much lesser venues host it then Cincinnati , that's for sure.

Actually the Higbee building has additional floors above the poker room that they could configure for multipurpose area. Too cheep to put in extra cash.

Typical casino.

The floor told me that they're still trying to get the circuit. A wsop tourney director also told me that they were planning on coming back to cincinnati this year, so hopefully they're still working out the details and will potentially add the stop at a later date.

I would not say 24/7, but the 1/2 game makes you come in for 5 and buy ins are 100-500. It runs every day as far as I can tell, but don't think it will run all night every night.

I believe the 5/10 and above will run most Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, but could be wrong as I don't play in them and I am not positive on their min-max.

The 5/5 is $300 min/$1000 max, 5/10 is $500 min/$2000 max, and a 10/25 also runs on occasion but it doesn't have the buy-in posted on Bravo.

A guy at my 1/2 table got escorted out today after the casino became suspicious after he had quad Queens with a K kicker for the high and refused to sign up for a players card. When the hand in question was over, he was forced to show because the other player in the hand had a full house and showed his hand. He acted kind of strange as if he did not want to turn over his cards but he finally did and then he acted as if he had no idea about the high hand promo even though several people at the table were certain he is a regular in the room.

After the hand, the floorman came over and then the two of them went up to the podium and talked but he would not give his drivers license for a player card. He kept telling everyone at the table it was bull**** and it was too much information to have to give and that he had ended up calling his lawyer and his lawyer advised him not to sign up for one because his exwife could get part of the money(????). Shortly after this, he got up and walked around for about a half hour till casino security questioned him, and the dealers that had been at the table to try to determine how much he started with. A few minutes later, he was escorted out and the original dealer confirmed that the player was indeed on the banned list. Why do they always think they will be the one that gets away with it?

Hopefully they can get it. I wish Horseshoe Cincy would just nut up and get those security cameras and whatever else they need to get the WSOPC back. I think they are losing out on a lot of money by not having a WSOPC stop.

I thought the last time the circuit was in Cincy, it was fun, lots of players, and the promos for main event seats and such were pretty good. I'd rather play a WSOPC in Cincy than Southern Indiana, and I'm sure a lot of other people would say the same thing.

Many states garnish the poker winnings of scumbags who don't make child support payments. Since the dude didn't want to give up any personal info yet was a "regular" who didn't even have a players card, suspect discerning readers can figure out what was going on.

They check for state garnishment at the Tampa Hard Rock. We had a guy hit a spade royal for a progressive jackpot of around 10k a few years ago. But he acted weird and said dont worry about it. They eventually got his ID and he was banned. Police took him away in handcuffs.

In both cases I dont see why the guy doesnt just say something like my ID is in my car, and then pretend to go get it and drive away.

Sure hope I never end up in a situation where I don't want to collect a jackpot for the legal ramifications, lol.

Even if you are under garnishment, winning has to make a bite to the total you owe.

Surely you can make sure they take out the taxes. Even if it's zero for you, you get some of what's over your head removed

High hand promo only wins $250. Suspect the guy was a winning player who didn't want his ex or the court system to be aware of his poker earnings, hence no players card and playing cash games. Since he was already on the ban list, maybe his ex knew of his poker playing and got a provision in the settlement or court order that he had to have a players card and keep records so the court would know of his earnings/losses.

If nothing else he could be accused of lost money gambling and that's why he was behind on payments.

I always like to make up stories in my head when someone says they don't have a card by choice.

-witness protection
-escaped felon
-divorce
-etc.

Any talk of the ASG activities driving up traffic? Hasn't seemed to hit yet according to Bravo, but of course most of the crowds show up tomorrow. Do big games normally run Monday or Tuesday?

I thought the ASG might bring in more players and bigger games but I haven't seen anything either. I do believe the 10-25 PLO runs Mondays (not sure, not my game).

I played in the high limit table game room the last two Fridays and saw more "celebs" (Bengals players) on the 3rd than this past Friday (no one that I recognized). I'm sure there were and will be some people Saturday-Tuesday but I missed out during my 4+ hours there on Friday night. The casino was prepared for action, though, as they had a couple reserved tables and the second high limit blackjack pit was open as well (with little-to-no action).

I'll be in town for the ASG. I'm looking forward to checking out the room. Hopefully there will be some good PLO action or preferably some mid stakes lhe. First time in cincy. Thanks for all the tips earlier in the thread. Cheers!

Edit...when is the best time/day to get a mid stakes lhe game going? I'll be here until sunday. Basically 20/40 up to 50/100. Do these games usually have a half kill/kill? I'd prefer a half kill but whatever.

Biggest regular limit game is 6/12 O8 on Fridays with a half kill. Biggest limit hold'em game is just 3-6 (no kill). I've seen bigger games on the list, like 10-20, that never got off (not even 4-8 or 6-12 LHE). So, to answer your question, put a game on the list and cross your fingers. I would say 20-40 is a stretch at any time of the day but it depends on other visitors wanting to play it too.

PLO should be 1-2, 5-5, 5-10, 10-25 and possibly the rare 25-50. You shouldn't have any problem finding PLO action all week. My guess is that 5-10 and 10-25 should go off early in the week and on the weekend. You'll probably have 1-2 and 5-5 mid-late in the week.

A friend of mine, who plays a lot but had never played at Horseshoe Cincinnati, tried it out for the first time Friday. He was really impressed with both the room and the quality (or lack thereof, aka softness) of the players at 1-2 and 2-5. He said he'll definitely be back and regularly.

Anyone know if this room is going to run another "Labor Day Deepstack" tournament? Got a strong turnout last year.
