never knew they had it, besides the $14.99 a day you can pay when you are a hotel guest to get wifi anywhere.

From what I last heard, they took it out to put in a conference room but never replaced it.

Just spent 3 days at the hotel, no wifi unless you pay 11.99 for one day. Total rip off obv.

Also my phone, at&t, gets no reception in the poker room.

Yeah, I have AT&T also and get craptastic service.

WiFi would be phenomenal.

Tried to get the 1/2 PLO going tonight at around 6pm, but they opened it and a 2/5 must-move at the same time (5 of the 8 on the PLO list were also on the 2-5)

Womp womp....

See you all tomorrow.

There used to be wi-fi at the buffet and surrounding area. I haven't tried since the death of my smart phone.

Maybe I made the WiFi being in the poker room thing up.... ....but it sounds like a damn fine idea, IMO.

There was a time when there was Wifi, but I believe a dealer told me he thought that they had accidently left it unsecure so that it was an open network that anyone could use. Its no longer unsecure.

Any guesstimates on the number of players in the main in the Denny Crum? Didn't find much on search, but thought I saw some posts on the Crum earlier.

I sat in on a play over box for couple of rounds Friday night. Small sample and I am clueless but it looked soft. Biggest pot I saw was TPTK vs middle set when TPTK tried to buy the pot. It may have been bottom set, set of 4's.

This is a really basic question but can anyone sit down on a play over box. I've been at the table many times and have seen players come over and play on them but I never knew if there was any sort of guidelines here. I mean obviously they have to leave when the player comes back but could I hypothetically get on a 1/2 wait list and try to find a box to play at until then?

Yes, it is considered good manners to tell the floor but isn't required.

Just got the WSOP circuit event calendar in the mail, as I'm sure others have, and I see there is a 6-Max nlhe and a HORSE . Even though I don't play plo, there somehow is no plo???

Also, does anyone know the vig on these tournys? Gotta be better than the DC open right? And are the structures anywhere? Already checked the web site, didn't see anything, but didn't look super hard. And "Blind levels" are for some tournys 30/40/50/60 mins? I guess the longer the tourny goes the longer the blinds, but at what levels or player count do they go up?

And on all the numbered events there is a one time add on for $10, which gets you 3k tourny chips. Which makes no sense to me as, for example, event #3 is a nlhe with a buy in of $555, and for that $555 you get 9k in chips, but for just $10 more you get 3k, lol. There is going to be someone who doesn't take the add on and is going to lose out on a lot of chipev imo.

stopped by on my way thru town yesterday and had a question:

do you all like the mini-bad beat better or worse than the traditional bad beat?

I like it since it gives money out more oftern

I've been a part of the old bad beat and recently a mini bad beat table.

I was actually at a mini bad beat table this weekend. Believe it or not... They paid out the mini bad beat with only 1 card playing in each players hand. A4 vs KK board was A 5 A K A. I put on my poker face as the floor came over when the players claimed they had a bad beat because I was certain they wouldn't pay it out... but low and behold... The players at the table went and got the promotions sheet and to my astonishment... There was no stipulation about "Both cards having to play" so the floor ended up paying it out.

I told my buddy that there was no way in hell that they would let that fly in the future and sure enough, on monday, there was a flyer on the registration desk that said that they will only pay out bad beats with 1 card playing in the hand on the weekends during september. My guess is that they can't go back and change the promotion completely but they can add a stipulation that fits within the window of when the promotion actually hit. If that makes sense.

I don't know if it was a mistake or if they intentionally left out the both cards playing stipulation but with only 1 card needing to play in your hand on the weekends... i would venture say the mini bad beat will go out quite a bit this month (on the weekends)

Also, couple that with the other promotion regarding 8 hours of play between saturday and sunday gets you a WSOP-C $70 satty voucher and it seems like one of the most lucrative promotions they've run up there in a quite a long time.

I'm from the school of thought that the bad beat jackpot is a tax on good players but ive made alot of money off of the in the past so I can't really say anything that bad about it. I'm okay with them giving out the mini bad beat as it seems it will go out alot more as opposed to 6666 or better having to be beat and it almost never going out.

The recent cloure of the Sherman Minton Bridge has slowed the action. It isn't dead but there are noticeably fewer tables going and it is very noticeable in the parking garage and walking through the casino.

easy, do i understand correctly, that 8 hours of play either on Saturday and Sunday or adding both days together gets a $70 satty voucher?

I went to Horseshoe Southern Indiana Thursday night. It was dead. There were 2 1/2 NL tables and 2 3/6 limit tables going. I played 3/6 for 4 hours. About half the time we were full and the other half we were 6 handed. Seemed like pretty much all locals. Play was pretty tight. One hand had a loose guy bet on the flop, 2 callers, then I raise with TPTK and everyone folds. Just never have seen that happen at a 3/6 limit table before. Also first time that I have raised preflop and got no action. Happened twice. I had played several hands too so its not like I was playing very few hands. Casino was pretty much dead everywhere. The bridge closure must really be killing their business.

Yeah, the bridge is killing the poker room. I stopped by when I was in town Friday and couldn't beleive how few tables were running for a friday night. still left up $315 though.
