Theoretical situation: The 20-40 limit and 5-10 nl games are dropping $1 per hand for a $1500 spash pot promo on the upper tier. The splash pots take place at 3pm and 9pm, and just before then, lower limit players invade the upper tier, fill whatever empty seats are available, pay a blind or two to be eligible, and as soon as the splash pot is over, they file out back down to the lower limit games they were playing in.

Go ahead Yooly; tell us the upper tier players wouldn't mind this at all. Convince us that they wouldn't mind, because "no rules are being broken." They'd be squealing like stuck pigs!
I like the way you think nuts... Ill buy you a JUMBO dog one day

I think this idea should be considered also. It makes sense. The more hours you put in, the more money you are contributing to the promo.

I would like to see a freeroll tournament based on hours also. Majestic had freeroll tournaments based on hours put in during the month. Ameristar has one running now(I think 75 hours). 50 to 75 hours is reasonable. 100 hours is a bit high(Majestic required 100 hours).

When does Hollywood have a 2/5 NL game?

I will answer on Joe's behalf; he pays me a good buck to handle his small stuff: The Hollywood has 2/5 NL on Sundays only, at 12:30 pm. Why just Sundays? Especially considering the room is dying a slow death due mostly to their own greed?? You'll have to ask them, Specs. There are some things in life that no one can explain.

The "everyone here," really, doesn't count for very much, imo, but whatever. While it may be a heckling majority on this board, it's an insignificant minority in the whole grand scheme of things. The previous opinion was mine alone, and don't be an idiot and think that it reflects what the casino thinks.

Really, if you invaded my upper tier game to win the whatever, more power to you. I wouldn't care just the same way that I wouldn't when a first time lottery player wins a $250M jackpot that previous players contributed to, or a first time Wheel of Fortune slots player winning the $30M progressive would be. What you don't understand is that while there are feelings of being cheated, no one is actually getting cheated. Perception and reality can be totally different sometimes, and maybe you just have a perception problem.

.The points you make here seem sound, but sound or not, and whether you, personally, would mind or not, the large majority of upper-tier players would throw a ****-fit if the shoe were on the other foot. Regardless of whether it's cheating or not cheating, they wouldn't like it, and we don't either.

Surely, there is some promotion out there that is fair to all. I hate to say this 'cause I've never gotten a dollar out of it, but the high hand promotion going on now seems fair to me. The only change I would make if I ran the ship, would be to eliminate the seat giveaways altogether, and use that money to bolster they payouts of the high hand awards, either paying more for the current bonus hands, or adding a small payout ($50-$100, whatever the pool could afford) for quads.

To maintain high tournament turnout, I would run satellites during the slower days of the week. This way, everyone who wanted a chance to play in a tournament would have it, and with all the promotional dollar drops going back to the same people who contributed them via the high hand bonuses, fairness would be assured for everyone

Any news on how the 1500 went today? Who won, how much, how many players, etc.

It is hilarious that these high limit players are moving down to qualify for the jackpot drawing. The equity you receive from this promo is less than $8. If they are really that desperate to claw for an extra $8ish in equity, then that's kind of funny and pathetic considering they are playing for presumably much higher stakes. If I were playing $5/10+ and a player snuck down out of my game, I would rag on him so hard.

As an aside, I just moved to Chicago and am going to be around the Shoe probably like 30 hours a week. I told Jeremy I wanted to meet the infamous Coconuts and he laughed and told me he'd try to point him out some time. Coconuts, you're a star my friend. Jeremy does a stand up job too, they run that guy ragged!

Any more progress/discussion on my idea of freeroll tourney with promo $$ for people over a certain # of hours/month?

no way its over yet.....there was like 120 or something. $51k for first. On my right was 70 yr old woman who won her seat in a drawing at a 3-6 table, and to my left was a guy who only plays 1-2. I hope they do that freaking drawing promo every single time

Jeremy,

What's the deal with the cable in the poker room? Apparently you guys don't get ESPN2? It bums me out having to cut my sessions short each night in order to watch the Australian Open at home.

Yeah, The Australian Open...I've been wondering what the mass exodus is all about right before it comes on.
Jeremy! Any chance we can add a dozen cashiers or so while the Australian Open's going on, so we don't have to wait an extra second to cash out and race to our cars?

Jeremy,

Just wanted to say that giving away the seats for the big tournament today was a great idea, it's good for the cash games and the tournament. I hope to see this again.

125 people $175,000 prize pool and $50,700 for first. Paid top 14 places with 14th being $3,500.

It ended at 1am, so 13 hours. Not bad because starting chips were 10K with 40 minute levels.

It will be like that for every monthy $1500. The week prior to the $1500 tournament we'll give away the four seats a day.

Jeremy- Have you given any thought to creating a website/ page on the current site dedicated to the results in the tourneys? I think it would be interesting to see to the top players are and maybe have a tournament of champions or something like that? I've place in a couple of the tournaments and would love to see all the results.

Yes I have and even said I would do it but anything publicly done like that has to be done through corporate marketing. I hope to eventually have it.

Jeremy,

I have to give you guys credit. I didn't think the $1,500 buy in event would have that many people even with the promotions going into it.
