So you just got him fired for leaking? .. good buddy ..

Can't imagine the pent up excitement for this to get started. Seems they've had some bumps in the road down at Horseshoe Indy but the availability of skilled staff is probably much higher in Chicagoland than Indy. More updates when you get them .. GL

Rivers’ poker room is supposed to open on April 6.

Meanwhile, it’s 12pm on a Monday. There’s 60 people on the waitlist at Horseshoe Hammond. But only 4 tables open since 10am.

2 more tables to open at 1:40pm. I’m sure the waitlist will have 100 people by then.

Thanksjoebiden

Easy .. Rivers is still a drive for a lot of ppl. Obv if you had a list of addresses for Reg Players that would be very telling as well. There will be a period of time where the shiny new penny will draw Players, but eventually it comes down to convenience. GL

Made the drive down to play for the first time since covid hit and all I can say is what a complete mess that place has become.I think they found the dealers at the Walmart nearby and asked them if they wanted to deal poker for the day.Soto really drilled that place into the ground. I did recognize a few faces of the dealers of old and was told that they completely screwed over the old staff.I can’t wait for rivers since heard a lot of the old staff will be there so maybe people who will actually know what they are doing.I hope horseshoe does close poker and Mr. Soto ends up in charge of a janitor team maybe he could handle that better.

Soto’s not to blame. He’s trying very hard to make the room work in spite of corporate challenges.

Only basic services in Horseshoe Hammond, very basic. Caesars is still in Hammond because no buyer can be found.

From the net:
"Caesars didn’t have as much luck trying to offload Horseshoe Hammond. The company originally had until Dec. 31, 2020 to sell the property.
However, you can’t sell something that no one wants to buy.
Caesars struggled to find an interested buyer, so the IGC gave the company a year extension on that original deadline."

I wonder how much the future development of a Chicago casino and a south suburbs casino is impacting their sale attempts.

That very well may be the case, but I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm banking that there's something amuck on the environmental side of that property that a new party wouldn't want to sign off on. Can't build a hotel where you can't dig, eh? I could be totally wrong here but the 'stay from sale' that Cesar's received from Indiana Gaming was probably 'said' to be due to CV popping up, but I think there's a lot of fish to fry before a sale will go thru there. Are the wait lists still absurd on Friday nights?

I hate spending an hour in traffic to get out there and then another 2 hours waiting on the list just to get a seat. Really hope they can up the table count and get back to former glory soon.

Screw Horseshoe Hammond and it's poker room. Poker room closed on Saturday and Sunday. I will play poker at my convenience, not when it is financially convenient for those corporate casino, white collar Caesars thugs.

(Beginning of end of that joint was back when they restructured the comp system - turned it to trash.)

Beginning of the end was when Soto took over.Back in the day when they had to force break games and wouldn’t seat people was all his doing.I remember a supervisor telling me he was a petty P.O.S back then.

They cant find a buyer since the minute corporate goes in there to check it out they are hit with that wall of wretched smoke smell that makes non-smokers want to puke. The place just stinks like ass and is like stepping back into the 1950s when everyone and their 6 year old kid smoked.

I will die on this hill to defend this point.

Nobody will want to buy it next year either. With a new Chicago casino at some point and rivers and hard rock already taking a lot of business that place is doomed. When the shoe opened the new place in 2008 it was fantastic. So much action,so many gorgeous waitresses, excellent dealers everywhere craps, poker now management has ran the place into the ground and nobody wants to play or work there anymore. But that’s what happens when you treat your guests and employees like ****.
