I've played in the 4/8 O8 on Friday nights three times in the last few months... gets going around 6 or 7 pm and goes until 3 or so. Lots of 60+ loose-weak players like you would expect, so much so that I'd get the stink-eye whenever I had the gall to raise pre-flop. One older black lady who holds her cards in her hand the whole time but doesn't get reprimanded for it. You might think this would be annoying if you're to her left and are wondering if she still has cards or not, until you quickly realize that she ALWAYS has cards. Some younger and more active players last Friday that made it more fun and no less profitable.

This game seems to have mostly replaced the 5/10 weekend O8 game at Majestic Star, which is good because last time I was there, the place was empty, and it's an annoyingly farther drive. The wait time can be long though because the oldies park at the table for HOURS including their meal break.

Questions on total rewards points:

Exactly how much points do you earn per hour at a $1/2 table?

When getting a buffet upstairs, exactly how much total rewards points does it cost?

The "play for X amount of time and get a voucher for a free buffet" is over, right?

For comps I believe it's $1.00/hr toward food, $0.50/hr toward slots, and $0.25/hr toward straightcashhomie.
As far as tier points I tried asking this question to dealers (didn't know) & at the promotions desk... The lady at the promotions did not comprehend my question, she kept saying it was based on my bets, I told her there was no way they tracked each bet I made at the table, after some time I assume she meant the blinds/limits.
The answer I received was 17tierpts/hr (for 200nl). Not sure if that's correct.

The buffet depends on when you go, dinner is around $19 with card and lunch is cheaper.

Yeah that's wrong. It's ~1 buck an hour period. I've never gotten free slot money for playing poker.

I mean you can choose one of those options. You don't get everything, if you choose to cash it out you don't get the same amount if you spent the comps on food.

I think there is a flat poker rate for tier points regardless of the limits you're playing.

The number of "regular" players (in that room) is low compared to the high population of the region. Typically on weekends all the tables are in action.

$1.00 per hour in Horseshoe poker room. At customer courtesy desks, the CASH option is GONE. Previously, for example, if you had $40 in comps, you could get $20 in cash, forfeit the other half. Now, that $20 goes into slots "bank". Go to slot machine, it will appear in your "bank", after you enter your pass code using your card. The change is system wide, Caesars no longer gives cash for comps.

Right. It is not "free". It is your earned comps.

Thanks for clearing that up, I knew I remembered hearing something like that when signing up for my card but that was 2 years ago. Didn't get the memo about cash going away.

I never used it on cash/slots because using it on food is a way better deal than forfeiting a % for cash or giving it back through slots, just remembered them mentioning it.

Comp points and tier score are NOT the same thing. You get 100 ($1) comp points per hour, and something like 17 tier points per hour. The tier points define what your preferred status is. For example you need 15,000 tier points in one year to be a diamond card.

I'm used to the 100 tables at Foxwoods. But I live in Wisconsin now and just went to Potawatomi, the 20 table room, where 8 of 9 people at every table seemed to be a regular. What's Hammond like? I don't feel like I could go back to Potawatomi even a second time without everyone remembering me (not saying I can't win again, I just don't want to be recognized after only 2 trips).

So 2 trips to Potawatomi gets a winner recognized, probably high double digits at Foxwoods, what do you guys think Hammond is?

OK, I'm not a NLHE player, but.... Do you really think everyone at Poto is going to sit out or ask for a table change just because you are 1 for 1 on winning sessions?

People there all the time suck too. Same with Wisconsin. No one really recognizes you as a winner either at any place if you aren't there a lot.

And just because they recognize you and believe you are a winner doesn't mean they are going to fold KJ to your raises.
