Like many things in the casino industry, we have to depend on the regulatory agency to protect us in lieu of real transparency.

Not only would no one be surprised, but it is fact as far as I know. Anthony did it at Delaware Park, people have said it in this thread, and he hasn't disputed it.

I'm primarily a cash game player, so it's unlikely that I'd become a regular in a room that does that. If you're a tournament player though, it's a great perk.

Why is it a perk? Where does the money come from to cover guarantees in rooms that don't use the bbj fund?

It's a perk because they're more likely to get overlays. In other rooms the casino covers the overlay, so they're more incentivized to have conservative guarantees. In casinos like this one, they may have higher guarantees because it's not their money covering the overlay so they DGAF.

So, Horseshoe tournament players ... have there been a lot of overlays?

They don't. Mike has said he's opposed to doing this in the ML thread.

I stand corrected. Live doesn't use promo funds for Tournament overlays

I'm guessing there won't be March poker promos either because of the WSOP tournaments

Anybody got an idea how many runners were in the Monday 7 p.m. $100 NLHE tourney last week? Might try it next week.

And what's the parking situation like if I were to come up for the Monday night tourney?

You'll have no problem with parking on a Monday night. The only time Monday would ever be a problem would be on a football sunday.

I'm not a tournament regular by any means, but I've played in 5 of their dailies in 2016 and none of them had overlays. I haven't played in any of their large tournaments though

According to Bravo, there is a 7.50/15 Mix game. The Pink Chip game has returned! There are also 15 people on the list. I haven't seen this game run for a while.

Also according to Bravo, there are some March promotions:
High Hands
3/1-3/24 Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday $125 Every 15 Minutes w/Rollovers 4pm - 3am
3/1-3/24 7 Days a Week $100 Every 30 Minutes w/Rollovers 3am - 11am

Certainly better than nothing. And with less tables going a chance to hit is nice.
