Really? Is the extra 1.5/ hr in restricted funds really worth it?

I'm very interested to know more about the main event sattys that are supposed to run in May. Does anyone have any details on these?

I've played a decent number of hours in all of the big rooms in the region - the Shoe, MDL, DP, Parx, SugarHouse, Harrahs in Chester and AC, Ballys and the Borgata. So I'm comparing it to everything else...

I think the room has been pretty well run from what I've seen. There are some dealers who could improve, and not everything is perfect, but there's no perfect room. Considering that there are a lot of really well-run rooms in the region, and it fits in well and compares favorably in a lot of ways IMO, I have no complaints.

The rake is what it is... I don't think you can blame Anthony for that. He's also been creative and taken some chances, such as the Charm City Classic, which was great for traffic in the room... And the location of the final table of the WSOPc Main Event was pretty cool and also probably drew people in that might not normally take an interest in poker.

The food service could be quicker, and I'm not a huge fan of the salad from the deli or whatever, but it's not like Anthony has much control over that as far as I know. Sure, he promised he'd do his best, but I have no reason to believe he hasn't - and I've seen floors go out of their way to try to help players get food/drink orders taken care of quicker. You don't see that in most poker rooms.

I'd say he's done a good job overall.

I've played in a lot of rooms as well, and I give kudos to Horseshoe. Certainly much better run, and more fun to play in, than either Maryland Live! or Hollywood, in my opinion.

The food is better, and I've found the service to be usually very good. Dealers and floor people are good there too. Nothing to complain about, really, although it would be nice to have a lower rake.

But the comps make up for that, so I'm not complaining.

It is nice to have the tables spread out enough that walking around is easy. The chairs and tables are comfy. And the floor people do a good job of trying their darndest to keep things running smoothly.

I'm not trying to be unkind but what do you mean by better run? I would count things like accurate floor rulings in the category of running a room well, and I wonder what they do better than Live to make up for the fact that a magic 8 ball is about as consistent.

Higher comps, lower timed rake, food runners, 9 handed 2/5 games with higher cap, more/better quality food options, cheaper massage girls, tables have more space between them, callin time longer than 30 min

Inconsistent floor rulings are def a con, less games running and extra $1 drop in the raked games.

I always love the flop quads promo. Hopefully it runs 24/7 and not just weekdays

The spin the wheel promos always remind me of the old days at the Trop. Anyone remember? When they had such glorious prizes as a vcr and an alarm clock? LOL

Also the wheel at Bally's...LOL. Seems like this one keeps resurfacing in one form or another. Just glad that some promos are returning to the shoe.

Just found out there will be a $1100 wsop main event satty on June 14th with 4 different step 1s on Tuesday evenings throughout may $125 buy in.
Hopefully there will be a decent sized turn out for these, it would be great to win a seat into the biggest poker tournament of the year without leaving town to do it

I'm downgrading my review slightly. A dealer just made me post coming from a must move and I did instead of arguing or calling the floor. I went and checked later and obviously she was wrong.

Next, the tray was over by $5 which almost has to be from a dealer error that hurt a player. They dropped it as extra rake. Maybe that's the policy elsewhere too but it seems pretty unfair.

So what effect will the city wide curfew have on Horseshoe patrons. Captive from 10pm to 6am every night for the next week starting tomorrow?

Don't think the only exceptions for being out are transit to and from work and medical emergencies limit it to children.

Last edited by goodsaint; 04-27-2015 at 09:02 PM. Reason: children under 14- 9pm/14+ 10pm standing curfew on school nights.
