@Brian Vickers

Maybe you could generate some interest in other games by doing some sort of daily promotion. Something like:

-- "Wednesdays, all LHE tables get a $1 discount in rake."
or
-- "Thursdays, if you play at an Omaha table for at least an hour, you get a comp meal."

You gotta assume that at least a few people would gravitate over, even if they've never played that game before. And maybe that would eventually lead to those games running outside of the promo period.

BTW -- I hate NL cash games, and I haven't played at Hollywood in almost a year. But if there was a resurgence in limit games, I would be there on a weekly basis!

I would like to see limit games on Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

When the mini BBJ went off today only the table were the BB happened was shut down. I was one of the lucky ones to be at the table.

Totally disagree, and so does the Borgata (the best around), and the Sands (best closest to here). I never said lower the $200 buy-in, but lower the max. This is Harrisburg, you need to cater to the area. If you act like it's southern Florida, you're still gonna get your 5 tables max (mostly 1-2) running per day.

$500 is still a good game, and would just about guarantee the thing goes off. Right now it's pot luck, unless it's Thurs Fri or Sat. A 5-5 is then perfect for anyone who wants to bring $1k.

I prefer the 5-10, and that's why I travel another 20 mins to play mostly at The Sands. Build it up though, lower the rake and give comps and people will come, and real games will develop.

I wouldn't mind $200/$500. It's the min that is the concern, not so much the max here given that just about no one buys in for 1k anyway at this room. PARX would disagree with you, but that's a place where a good cut of people buy in deeper.

Don, I think it's pretty awesome that you posted this question this morning and then you ended up being on the table and got table share of the Mini BBJ 2-hours later, congratulations!

The short answer to your question is - "It shouldn't have been." and also, for those of you who were in the room last week when the room was shut down temporarily for the Mini-BBJ "Sorry about that, we've addressed it with everyone."

How would you (and other players feel free to add your opinions) feel if we were to start offering a middle ground game of $1-3NL with a $100-500 buy-in? I believe this could satisfy both the players looking for a slightly higher game and keep giving the $2-5 players who like to play deeper their game as well. If there was interest for this I could submit it for approval pretty quickly.

As I mentioned to you tonight while the 2/5 game was opening, I think this would be a great idea. I like it because it will play bigger than the 1/2 and will be a better option when a 2/5 game isn't running.

I like it.

I also thought the jackpot would generate some limit games going. I heard retirees flock to rooms with a bad beat jackpot. I'm disappointed the limit games became extinct at Hollywood. When they did run, I always did pretty well.

Just a suggestion Brian - but Mohegan used to give a buffett voucher if you played so many hours of Limit poker. I think it was 4 hrs. I mean bad beat jack pot + a buffet coupon. How can the over 60 crowd resist that?

Are any Omaha games running there at all?

Yeah, a 1-2 PLO game has run the past few weekend nights. It appears they finally gave up on the O8 game and started playing PLO. Better game IMO.

Hey Brian, are they any closer at all to giving players comps or is that idea dead for right now completely?

You want to run both 1/2 AND 1/3? Those are extremely close and I don't think you're getting much out of it. And I agree with other posters in this thread that comps of any kind would really help drive limit action.

Or maybe run a 2/5 ($200 - $500), and a 2/5 with a $1 ante ($200 - $1000)? I've never seen it run anywhere, but it might be cool.

Your lucky if you can get one 2/5 NL going. What makes they can get two different 2/5 games.

Since they changed the tournament starting time to 11:15 am, what is the approx. time they finish up? Are they still getting the normal amount of participants?

Welcome back guys, glad to see 2+2 took care of that hacker issue.

Daily AM tournaments have been ending about 3:00pm. Pretty much the same field as before.

I'm in the area and will be stopping by to check out this room. I haven't been here in about a year or so. I'm VERY excited to see that they have a poker rep on 2+2 now...go Brian Vickers! This is definitely a move in the right direction.

I'm also happy to see that tournaments are running. Although I avoid them like the plague, it does bring in more players and nothing is better at a cash game than a recently busted and tilty tournament player

I've also heard about the bad beat and will be curious to find out the details of this and to see how everything is running in general. I'm still concerned that the rake is probably the same as before but I guess some steps in the right direction beat no steps in the right direction.

Fingers crossed that there is still a good volume of donks here!

There is only free air, but I believe you have to tip for that.

No free wifi that I am aware of. Cell reception is also extremely poor. Ive often wondered why they couldn't contract with AT&T and install equipment, but I figure why would they want people on their phones, as opposed to playing the machines.

Brian, the poker schedule on your iPhone App is not updated. Not taking a shot, but little things like this keep players away.

Are you filling up the room Friday nights? If not, why not run a $250 tourney in the evening?
