Btw 100/200/25 to 200/400/25 is madly steep.

I think Cleveland does 100/200/25 to 200/400/25 but I'm not entirely sure on that. That is pretty steep. So are you saying people line up JUST to register at 5:15?

Guess I'll plan to leave early tomorrow.

I got my seat right directly in the break. I'm still in on tourney table 6, seat 3.

I don't mind the structure so much as I'm used to paying the same structure with 15-18 minute rounds.

If you're coming to the evening tourney, registration opens up at 5:15. You're going to want to be in line well before that though. Knowing what it was like this morning, and expecting it to be more busy tonight, I'd get in line no later than 430. Personally, I'd show up at 345.

awesome rule. Last year in Lawrenceburg, FT'd the 1st event, and we played like one hand every five mins because everyone would just discuss a chop instead of playing, even though at least one other person vetoed the chop the whole time.

Wow, 10 way chop. Who are these people? Good to know that people are afraid to play til the end. Gets me a lil more excited.

Thanks for all the info

This is pretty standard for daily tournaments in local casinos from what I've seen. I play at Hollywood Lawrenceburg and 95% of their tournaments end up getting chopped.

Did the casino handle the money for the chop or did the players have to do it on their own?

I was one of the 5 that chopped and nobody was upset with the one objector when there was nine. We were working on 6 hours and $1100 turned out to be equivalent to 2nd place money. Personally I didn't care one way or the other.

Could just be because nobody wants to risk being in a poker tournament when the storm comes around. I personally was thinking of hitting this place up either today or tomorrow but probably won't because of the snow.

81 runners for the Tuesday morning tourney, no waiting for registration. Final table started around 230pm. I busted 9th, was short stacked most of the day so not that disappointed

I don't think there is any chance it will come close to selling out, 10 minutes before should give you enough time to get registered and settled in

Pretty sure I know dj, but haven't met you yet, ReidLockhart. If you guys want, join the Cbus thread here if you ever want to meet up.

Hi guys, I've been lurking this thread for a few wks, but finally had a chance to play at the cbus casino and want to get an idea what you all think of the tourneys. I played in the first "big" tournament they had yesterday and thought the structure left a little bit to be desired. It played surprisingly slow until a couple levels after the first break. To give you an idea, they allow alternates to enter up until the break and they only ended up with 5 alternates (out of a max of 20). The play was so deep up until the first break that I doubt they will ever reach the max alternates for this tournament, which is totally fine. But the middle and endgame of the tournament played very fast and just about every player was left playing a push/fold size stack at the money bubble. By the FT is was basically a crap shoot, which isn't terrible I guess, but I just was surprised at some of the blind jumps. The tournament would have been a lot better imo if they at least had a 2.5k/5k level and a 5k/10k level, especially since those were occurring right at the hand for hand bubble. Some of the dealers were slow too, which only lessened the amount of hands played during certain levels. I played one orbit where the blinds were at 3k/6k and by the next time they hit me they were 6k/12k. I don't think it's too big of a deal to at least add a 2.5k/5k and 5k/10k level in since the tourney still played fairly fast. I busted in 8th at about 4:30 and I doubt the tournament lasted much longer than that.

For those who've played, what do you think of the tournaments?

I've played two tournaments so far, and while I might play the smaller ones, I will definitely not play anything larger than the weekday morning cost.

The structure is just way to terrible for anything other than a "few bucks for fun" sort of tourney.

With $240 tournaments, I expect to be able to actually play all the way throughout the entire time rather than being forced into a p/f strategy by the structure regardless of my stack.

It's just a really bad place to play tournaments, and I'll rarely even play the mornings at that.
