As you've probably noticed, the website is new, and they're having some technical issues with displaying the Bravo information.

I'm told they're working on resolving the issue.

Still not working. Anything else in the positive territory to inform us about the room?

There is a rumor that it will be much tougher to earn a Platinum card this fiscal year and when March 1st rolls around, lots of people will be losing their Platinum status.

This is to Uniden.....

if you have any influence whatsoever, do what you can to not let this happen. Mark my words, this will kill the room. It will be a death blow.

The snowbirds leave around this same time. If Platinum cards are also taken away from lots of people, the summer in the Isle poker room will look like a nuclear wasteland. There will be even more layoffs.

The bean counters sitting behind their desks have no idea whats going on in the trenches but the players do. There are tons of guys (mostly retirees) who play mostly every day and collect their comps. A large majority of them will not keep playing without these comps because they are already losing players.

Dont say I didnt warn you. We have plenty of other places to play. You can easily check your player card records and see how many ex-regulars no longer play here. It will be much worse. DEATH BLOW!

Please explain how it's not already hard to get platnium without putting in almost 1k hrs/yr at 2/5. Not including mooching to a certain floor guy to possibly give an upgrade

hey everyone

I am looking to spend a couple of months grinding in Florida. Have done it before but used hotels; this time I'd like to get an apartment.

Can anyone recommend any nice quiet towns to look for? Last time I skipped between the Isle/Coconut Creek/PBKC/Hard Rock

thanks

Up to this point the poker room was issuing Platinum cards at 750 hours of 2/5. That's not that many hours if you are a retired guy / pro / serious rec player. Its about 15 hours/week.

The Platinum card is the only thing left that is keeping a lot of these guys (including myself) coming back since so many other things have changed...and for the worse. Trust me, the place will be a ghost town before dinner time if they change this policy.

Afaik we get 70 something tier points/HR & 100k required for platnium so that's over 1200 at that rate so perhaps I'm uninformed how that would have worked unless theu just say ok 750 hrs here ya go

This goes back to my original post. You need around 1200 hrs based on the Isle tier points system but the poker room has been using a different system. They have been giving waivers or whatever you want to call it that lowers the required hours to 750 for 2/5 and (I believe) 1000 for 1/2.

If they take that away and strictly use the tier points system, so many people are going to lose their Platinum status and leave the Isle that it is going to be DEAD. They will leave and play other places that have better high hand promotions if they aren't getting the extra comps for Platinum

I've been playing Creek for the superior bonuses the past few months (Gold card @ Isles $2.44/Hr vs Regular at Creek $4.33/ HR factoring in 75 hr bonus). That said I don't enjoy Creek at all. Smells of smoke, feels seedy and some of the characters there make my skin crawl.

Are there any Isles administrators I can speak to about raising my per hour? I can agree to guarantee a certain number of hours per month if that helps.

If they raised me even to $3.25 / an hour even...

Gold card pays $2.86 at 2/5. Not sure what it pays at 1/2.
The Creek 75 hour bonus is temporary. It doesnt run all the time.

The answer to your question about raising your comps at the Isle is No. Nobody is in charge right now and it appears that the new ownership wont be allowing poker room upgrades to player cards anymore. Remember what I said ......Death Blow.

Poker Room Manager position is now posted on some of the job sites.

Maybe some of the people posting in this thread should apply!

I've been an Isle regular for years, was there the day NL went live in Florida, been there for big tourneys, etc. I played there last weekend and the weekend before and am so sad about what's going on.

And unfortunately, I too see the writing on the wall.

Bad promos. Bad service. The floor staff is unhappy and don't want to be de facto chip runners and brushes.

It's all going to catch up with the new management. Ralph, Vinny, I know you're reading this. You know how great your room can be. Could we, the concerned players, have a chance to speak with the new management?

Ugh the February tournament schedule for the Isle just came out. Three multi-day tournaments, all with low guarantees compared to what they were in the past. For example, they have a $250 multi-day tournament with a $50k guarantee ... this week they're running a multi-day tournament with the same exact buy-in (10 minute shorter levels) and with a $100k guarantee. Why would I play a similar tournament for half the guarantee?

February's $250 | $50k is only two flights, compared to the six flights of the current $250 | $100k.

They're simply just two different tournaments, that happen to have the same Buy-in.

If you ignore the Creek's temporary bonus at 75 hours this month - what do the other rooms in the area pay back in bonus funds ?

The Creek, Hard Rock, Mardi Gras, PPKC ???

How long has Stan been out at The Isle ??

Creek
$1/hr at 1/2
$2/hr at 2/5

Hard Rock
I think is the same as the Creek

PBKC
Pays zero comps

Mardi Gras
I heard they just suspended their comps. No idea why or if its permanent.

Most of those places also have better High Hands promos than the Isle. Stan has been gone about 6 weeks-ish

There's not that many people who buy in for $200 at 2/5. Ive counted the chips on the table many times at a brand new table and the avg stack is usually about $375.

I do agree though that not very many people will start buying in for $1000. At least not at first. I think its a bad idea anyway. The Isle is already losing players left and right. The last thing we need is for the fish to run out of money faster and stop playing. The Isle doesnt have as many tourists and new players passing thru town as the HR does.

You miss the point plus very few buy in for <300. Having the ability to rebuy/chip up to 1k after doubling up someone gives you an inherent advantage as you can now buy up to that stack instead of being capped at 500.

I understand that part which yes is good and I guess I must be blind as a bat because I have come in the mid afternoon and been sent to tables where half of them have less than $500. I normally play a bit later and still see 1/3 of table buying in for 2-3, most of these guys are the same ones who have been doing it for a long time (same faces). My point was, that assuming these guys double+ and triple up and are faced with sitting at a table with good players who now cover their 1k stacks, they are going to pick up even sooner, which isn't good.

I take back what I said. Im already seeing a difference in the games. Im seeing a good number of new faces. I guess they are Hard Rock and Creek players coming to the Isle to check out the new deep games. Hopefully they stay because the ones Ive seen are serious action players.

Avg pot sizes were way up the last 2 days. I felt more like I was playing 5/10 to be honest. Not quality of play, but bet sizes and pot sizes.

Because of the removal of tables at CC and the increased 2nd hand smoke for 2/5 people especially,I think we will see quite a few of the regs and recs from there switching to Isle. RIP 5/10 game completely most likely. I do like the new $100 chips. The reds could use a makeover also.
