No, you just ask to start a $1/$2/$4 interest list. It will run almost every time there is an interest list started. Takes about 20-40 minutes to get enough players interested.

The free alcohol does nothing for me, I wish they were offering more comp $ and tier points for the 1/3 though.

Edit: I'm not guessing about the lack of a higher comp rate. I emailed the poker room manager to ask.

I'll let you in on another little secret as far as tier credits go. 1-2, 2-5 are both 14 tier credits (5 10 is 28 tier credits per hour).
By the way, 1 2 Super in AC is 26 tier credits per hour.
I do not think they will be willing to provide higher comp rate as comps are already good with a $10 voucher effectively making comp rate about $2.50 on average for all games. However, more tier credits would probably be realistic (I'm sure CET wants more higher limit games and bigger drop).

I would play @ $220... not rape mode $275.
the extra money goes into the prize pool.

$275 tourney and raking less than 10%?????? I find that unbelievable. If true, it will bring a big crowd.

TRIP REPORT
Rolled over to the lovely metropolis of Chester at just before midnight late Sunday. Didnt expect much action, but apparently plenty of other degens are out to get their pokers on to start the week! A couple of 2-5s and probably 7-8 1-2 tables going.

Generally typical mixed low-limit table from an age, race and sex standpoint with post 50-year old nits, young poorly playing Asian kids and a few 20-something wannabe pros converting to live action post BF.

Room reasonably well run, kept the tables filled as they could. Efficient cocktail service, although c'mon Harrah's $6 for a freaking Corona? I guess there's more than one way to make a profit from the pokers.

Dealers pretty competent and reasonably friendly. Sufficiently chatty without it getting in the way and annoying. Hint for first-timers there like me, park on level 3 of the garage and walk right to poker room. One of the fastest in and outs in a poker room. Also unlike those monkeys in AC, no charge for parking. Did like the 9-handed tables.

Weirdest thing of the night was playing with the vampire. REALLY. I had to do a few second and third looks to make sure, but yep, he had some kind of orthodentic prosthetic set of fangs in and either a tattoo or some kind of decals on both side of his neck to look like fang marks with a slight dribble of blood from the puncture wounds. Guy was actually decent TAG player but holy crap what an odd appearance.

Only thing I didnt like was my particular table selection where there was several folks buying in short ($100) and you could go as low as $60 up to $300. So was a challenge adjusting the game to the tight shorties but then again they were usually dead money in a pot unless they put up some resistance which made for easy folds.

Did see one Asian guy that was a wide-eyed smiler that didnt seem to really know what he was doing and did they old two-chip flip in on a limped pot but tossed a greenbird and single to actually end up over-raising. He played dumb like it was an accident (and I sure thought it was an accident) Of course, he ends up catching action as folks think he screwed up and put in some free cash, only to end up shipping the pot on some oddball runner runner. Good times.

Harrah's just released the September schedule and there are no signs of a black chip bounty tournament.

What are min/max buy-ins for this game?

I know both the players you're talking about. The Asian player is constantly taking shots. I've talked to the vampire guy a few times. He seems like a decent guy once you get used to the fangs.

Jesus, they're STILL doing this? Every person in the entire building gets free drinks except 1/2 players and a few lower limit players. That's just silly. I would imagine a 1/2 table ends up raking just as much as 2/5.

If no one in the poker room got free drinks I wouldn't mind, but this is just absurd to me. I guess if I ever go back I'll play 1/3, I've been driving the extra distance to Parx because it's far superior IMO.

$50 PLO tourney hillarious moment last night at Harrahs.

Preflop: MP shove for about 3X BB. SB and BB call.
Flop: 888, check check
Turn: 888 3, check check
River: X, check, pot size bet.

SB goes in a deep tank. After about 4 minutes MP says "I got you crushed and I'm probably losing this hand." This starts a little agruement between the all in and tanker.

After another 2 minutes, the tankers folds 33 face up hollywood style. (WTF) All in tables KK and the river raiser tables quads. Had to hear Mr. Hollywood talk about such a big laydown for another couple hands.

Earlier in the tourney, another guy is at showdown. Board is 4 to a straight and 3 s. Player 1 tables a Q high straight. Player 2 tables his hand and says chop it showing a naked Q. Dealer says you don't have a straight, but your flush wins the pot.

WTF PLO stories are the best. Here's mine from a hand at Borg a long time ago:

I have AhQQT, board is QhThT 3h 9h. Check, check to me 3 handed. Nobody really showed interest, so I take a half-pot stab at it.

First guy, decent player, tank-folds JhXh.

Second guy insta-calls, claims flush and tables just the bare Kh. He had another facecard K or Q across the table at first I thought it was a J. I was about to put a gun to my head. But nope, no str8 and MHIG.

Ha, I even messed up my own story. Board didn't have TT, because I won with a set of Q. Derp.

If you mean the 3 or 4 high hand periods per day, yes.

Thank you much! That is what I was referring to. I noticed on their website that it may be canceled during other promotions so I wasn't sure.
