I read the article and was a little amazed that they are trying to market themselves as a "regional destination."

In order to do that, they need plans for a hotel and the fact that they are not "in" Philadelphia could confuse the tourists,

There will still be a prison next door and the location is still within the town of Chester?

That's right - it isn't like the place picked up and moved.....

But, who knows, maybe it is a regional resort. A resort without a hotel, a pool, not much in the way of upscale dining, not much in the way of shows.....

I'm forgetting - why is this place a resort?

so who else has heard the new rule where if 2/5 game breaks, you can walk to a 1/2 game and match the highest stack?

changes are coming, in addition to the name.

all 3 freerolls are ending soon, according to a sign on the poker room desk.

they MIGHT be replaced by some kind of rakeback program.

Played here today for the first time (have been playing exlusively at Delaware Park since I got into town on a short-term job assignment in January).

Overall, I liked the room. Games were good, players were friendly, dealers were competent and seemed to enjoy what they were doing, waitresses were prompt and friendly.

It did seem like they had all kinds of problems with the dealer rotation though. At one point we had a dealer sit down and deal one hand. The next dealer dealt two hands. The third dealer dealt about four hands. Then the fourth finally did a full rotation. Somewhat annoying, but not a biggy in the end.

The area around the casino does seem pretty shady though. I went during the day, but it would be a little intimidating for an out-of-towner at night I'm guessing.

I have logged more than a 1,000 hours in this room and never had a problem. Casino security is much better than in Atlantic City properties.

One thing I do recommend though is not coming to Chester with an empty tank. You do not want to make any stops within Chester city limits (especially if you got decent amount of cash on you) - enough said.

AAL: agreed. The facility and parking garage were well lit and security was prominent around the casino. I'd hate to run out of gas or break down within a 2-mile radius of the place though.

Conversely, at DP, you have to walk 1/4 mile or more to get to your friggin' car. Only thing I don't like about that place.

Take a right out of harrahs. Less than two miles to a perfectly safe gas station.

Played the 10:30 yesterday. Only 36 players but lasted 5 hours. Good value for a $65. Got third.

That $175 an hour is coming from somewhere, obviously most of the players are losing. There is no reason to play. None. Zilch. Nada. Momma raised a fool, if you come to the defense of this place.

The rake is 5+1 ... no doubt ... why ask the floor, just watch the dealer take it every time

Anyone know If multiple 2/5+ running on account of WSOPC? Don't usually play
Midweek, but if action is better than normal (and it's usually ultra-soft), I'll make an exception

heard from a dealer last night that after this current bad beat hits, it is being changed to quad 10's and higher.

they are hoping that the subsequent high bad beat totals will keep the room full.

discuss.
