What's the extra +1

The extra $1 is for you paying their employees for them. We want $4+1, same as AC. Higher tax crap is bs. Don't play here ever.

I haven't been here in awhile... they're playing 10 handed again at 2-5? And charging another $1 so $7 each hand? ..... You can't beat these games at the lower limits.

I'd like confirmation about this extra $1

That is, unless you win a lot because the players suck. DUH

And I think it's only 5+1.

yeah afaik it's only 5+1 and i think someone is coming in here causing trouble. Unless things have changed.

Del park is 4+1 but only gives .40 per hour comp. I believe chester is 5+1 but gives $1 plus a free buffet if you play 4 hours

i don't know where this 5+1+1 stuff is coming from, unless it is brand new

I'm fairly certain it isn't $7. It is 5+1.

At least it was when I played there a month ago. I guess I was just being profoundly stupid....

He's saying 5+1+1 for rake+ BBJ drop + tip

which is technically correct I guess.

Thing is, it's just the standard PA $5 + a BBJ.

I don't like BBJ drops either but it's a Harrah's property so they have one. I mean, they aren't getting over on players or ripping them off. It's the same rake as other PA casinos + a BBJ drop.

It is what it is.

That would only be technically correct on hands you win. Unless he wins every hand, that wouldn't apply. And for the rest of us who are profoundly stupid for playing there, we don't have a shot in hell of doing that well

They are charging $15 an hour + to play $1-$2nl here. Real life Nuckie Thompsons are siphoning away all the fools money. And the fools continue to play. The $150 every 20 hands disappearing from the table must be coming from outer space. Each and every player at the table has to win 8 big blinds an hour just to break even. Seems reasonable. Chester is a nice place by the way, I hope to by a house there after I get dementia.

Never play 1-2nl here until its $4 rake, no bjj would be excellent also but the fools like the lottery and the majority probally wants the bbj.

20 hands an hour times $6 a hand = $120. Add a $1 for the expected tip, thats $140 an hour. Divide by 9 for 9 players at the table and youre paying $15.55 each every 20
hands.

Momma raised a !@#$ moron, if you defend this place. The house takes most of the money, obviously. Fleecing the poor is how these casino gangsters get rich, you are the source of their wealth. Empty bank accounts for the customers, million dollar homes for the casino owners. Standard.

Good Lord, give it a rest. No matter how much you want to slice and dice the numbers, it's just 1 buck more than PARX per hand. For that buck you get a shot at 100K+ BBJ, better comps, free drinks (for 2/5 and up), and often much looser 1/2 games than Parx. You must have some kind of axe to grind against the place, because compared to the local competition, it's fine.

If you're not winning there, I guess don't keep playing, whatever.

Chester is a horrendous place to play by local comparisons. Not for the recent reasons given but for others. Starting with the floor people who have not been taught properly on the rules to follow, then trickling down to a high percentage of dealers who are unprofessional. Lastly, now that a poor image has been given, too many of the players follow suit and act like animals rather than treating people well. Obviously it's not everyone who doesn't do their job, but far too many people in the poker room don't deserve to hold their position. I live ten mins from Chester Harrah's and drive right by it to go to parx or turn the other way to go to Delaware Park.

I thought PARX has a $5 rake as well, just not a drop for the BBJ, right?

If so, where does this guy play for a $4 rake, and why is my Mom getting brought into this?

I also think his math is off in several other places, but I think that will just lead to my Mom getting called much worse things.

Yeah, there have been changes in management over at good ol' Chester.

Vito has been "re-assigned".

Bruce Dixon, who was Director of Poker at Mohegan and before that in AC, came in and has taken over as Interim Poker Room Manager.

DB, who was on swing, is now running day shift. DS, who came in January from Vegas and other places, runs swing shift. A floor that was at Venetian supposedly is moving east and will be there as well. Dunno if she's there yet.

Thanks for the info on the new personnel. I was most recently there a couple Monday's ago (yes I'm a degenerate showing my face in there on a Monday) played the tourney to watch the dealer talk to the leaving dealer before sitting, then taking another 60 seconds to sign his down card, and then wash the cards with a purposefull slowness. Do they still allow 7-stars to sit at a 9-handed table? Regardless, I hope the place starts to run more efficiently, i'll certainly frequent more often.

Monday night it runs pretty consistently from what I can remember.

Just play at Parx if you're looking for consistent big NL games. The 10/10NL game starts around noonish every day. Tuesday night there were 4 tables of 10/10NL and pretty much every weekday night there are 2 tables.

Weekends are a tad slower at Parx because some people go down to Borgata to play but there is always a game by evening.

Honestly, it's a good marketing decision. Philadelphia is a nationally recognized name, Chester is not.

People I play with at Parx who come in from NYC have no clue where Chester is. Psychologically, they might be more apt to play Chester if they know it's basically in Philly and not some random suburb far away. West Chester and Chester are probably the same in their minds.

He's wrong, no extra $1. NLH games are now dealt up to 10 handed. Rake is max: $5 + 1 (BBJ).
