Does this mean that live dealer and cards gaming is a done deal?

Looks like a lot of crime in downtown Asheville.

Hopefully the move and live dealers will lead some real tournaments being held instead of turbo crapshoots.

Visited Cherokee for the first time a couple days ago when a poker buddy encouraged me to make an impromptu trip with him after a home game broke early in the AM. Only played in roughly a 24 hour window but I was surprised by how super soft the games were. Only encountered a few of the young regs, pretty much everyone else I encountered was either a rec player or simply a mediocre to bad reg. It was like i stepped into a time machine and was playing in an average live game circa 2006. Lots of limp calling and horrible bet sizing. Thought the casino was alright overall, would probably have no interest in going there if not for the poker. The room was better than expected and they seem pretty liberal in their weekday comps which is nice. Hopefully Ill get a chance to return in the future for a few more days.

Anyone know the Tournament schedule for June? I should finally make it back to Cherokee on the second week of June.

reed just think about it you are gettin 55hds/hr now the best you are goin to do for a while is 15-20 hds an hr.

So even if they extend the levels its prob going to be less hds per level which will put u in push fold sooner without all the other bennies

The schedule for June will be identical to May, so it will be as follows:

Monday (NLHE, $120, 7p); Tuesday (NLHE, $60, 7p); Wednesday (NLHE, $30, 2a) (PLO, $60, 7p); Thursday (NLHE, $60, 7p); Saturday (NLHE, $120, 10a)

This is something that we are evaluating. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as merely allowing sign-ups for the specified games, otherwise they would run every weekend. We are looking at a few ideas to enhance our ability to spread these games, as well as others, but there is nothing definitively planned at this time.

Yeah, it would be nice. But, it's not poker.

If it's not poker exactly as it was 20 years ago, it's not poker at all I guess. So, online poker isn't poker?

Poker is warfare.

I guess online is poker, if you call heads-up displays, hand histories and 16 tables poker. I would call it a maths exercise. Statistics. It's just a different means to accomplish the same end: how to get the money.

It's like comparing WWI dogfighting to todays aerial combat with F18s. You now have technology eliminating ever having to see your opponent. You're still trying to kill each other but the methodology is different and modernized.

If you are flying a Hornet and I am flying a Fokker, I have little chance. I prefer mano-a-mano where i can see and talk to my opponent. I want to use my brain against his, not Poker Stove..

Online is OK, but in my opinion is no fun these days. In the early days you could skin a cat, but the times changed.

Play what you will.

Cat skinning in the Bee Hive?

What time has the Saturday PLO game started running? Noon? 1pm? 2pm? I imagine if you don't get a seat right away you are due for multi-hour wait times.

I could care less...I am MTT'er and I like to see people putting chips in the pot not pushing a button. So many more tells with live cards and chips. That's why I don't come to NC regularly. I go to So Indy or WV.

That's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Changes to state gambling laws which allow the Cherokee casino to offer live dealer poker and other table games have cleared a House budget subcommittee.
If that article is correct, then they still haven't passed anything...

Hand history is obviously limited at this time, but PokerTek actively monitors this thread, so I suspect they've taken note of your suggestion.

AnthonyJ...Why is there not a real poker section on the Harrahs Cherokee website? Also any chance they may be willing to up the chip count on the Sit n Gos from 1500 to 3000? Any increase would stop the shove fest. Last thing..on avg how many plaers show up for the 2a.m tourney?
