I started a 2/5 plo game the other day. Except all we got was me and raj playing heads up. i agree the 1/2 plo game there sucks. I played it a few times and it was not uncommon for half the table to have less than 100 dollars. Im always down to play 2-5 or 5/10 plo im there a decent amount...not sure if there is a big enough player pool though

Any preferences between Two Trees and MGM for a two night poker stay? Hotel amenities? Convenience to poker room, etc.?

Well MGM is a a good 5 to 7 minute walk from the pokerroom. Two Trees is a short shuttle ride. I would prefer MGM as the rooms are MUCH MUCH nicer and I would rather walk a bit than have to wait for a shuttle each way.

My only problem with MGM was I like to sleep late and it was quite noisy in the morning and early afternoon due to the maids and people in the hallways. Still would prefer MGM over Two Trees though. If I were you I would try and get Great Cedar. It shouldn't be too hard if you are getting those other offers. It is much more convenient to poker room. MGM rooms are the nicest you can get though for standard rooms at the woods...

Wondering if anyone can tell me average field size for the Sunday 9am 10k guarantees? Planning on playing this week. Thanks

No contest here.
When not free, MGM rooms are usually about twice the price of TT's.
MGM is almost new, modern, deluxe and quite nice. (Prob 4-star out of 5)
TT is like an old Holiday Inn. Adequate, but just a place to sleep, nothing great. (2 star).
MGM is a long walk from poker room. (If you can do it in 5 min., you should enter the speedwalking event in the Olympics.)
TT is a short drive from the poker room (I would suggest driving your own car to and from Rainmaker garage vs the shuttle). TT has no internet connection or WiFi in most rooms.

MGM is the way to go. The walk is the only draw back, but after sitting at a table for hours it's not too bad. Also ask for a late checkout, which is usually Noon. If you get these offers in the summer it's especially nice with outdoor pool access. I also think they have some of the most comfortable beds around. However, has anyone else noticed that they have added an extra "padding" on top of the pillow top mattress? I actually investigate these things each trip and prefer a firmer mattress, so I've been disappointed the last couple times.

I had a corner/end room at MGM last week, which came with wrap-around windows and a flat screen that rises from the foot of the bed. Nice touch.

I think it was said before, if you just want convenience to the poker room-1) Great Cedar 2) Grand Pequot.

Two Trees is a last resort, one step up from napping at the bus depot.

Did anyone play in (or happened to observe) the FPC Qualifiers last weekend? I'm thinking about going down this weekend for the Act 2 Super (Sat 2 pm), Act 3 Super (Sat 6 pm) and perhaps Act 4 Super (Sun 2 pm) but I wanted to see if there's actually been sufficient interest for the Act 2-4s to actually launch (takes a minimum of 10 I believe). Also curious if there seems to have been much interest in the Act 1s during the day.

Thanks.

I wanted to play in the Act 2 Super last Saturday, but it never went off. Not only did it not go off, but they never even called it. I inquired about it at the reg desk around 1:30p and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. Weird.

Guess I will try the MGM next time, do they have an indoor pool? Im kind of used of staying in the same place and I tend not to use the room very much (although I should use it more).

There's a lap pool and other stuff in the spa area, think you have to pay extra for access. There is also an indoor pool at Pequot, they may let you in for free even though you're staying at MGM.

Thinking about heading up to Foxwoods from nyc despite the snow in a few hours. Not sure if I can trust the bus drivers though. Any updates on weather in the area and/or poker room status?

The weather this weekend will be all right there. Supposed to get around 1 inch of slush tonight, and like half an inch tomorrow during the day. Saturday night and Sunday no precipitation. I'll be there all weekend.

edit: According to weather.com for Ledyard

anyone gonna play 1-2 nl ? ill be there tonight drunk, i raise 15 every hand preflop but try and play my A-game postflop. My last 2 times i won 800 the first time and lost about 1100 the second time, partly because my friend was at the table f-n with me.

only way i wont play is we can get 40-80 or 75-150 game going, but i dont think they are likely to go on fridays

2/5 nl the last two nights have had incredible action. Ill post more later...I've got to pass out...only slept 3 hours innthe past 48 hours. But I did get to witness some donky that ran his stack up to 4500 the loose more than half of it to the table. I left before he did so I have no idea how he ended.

Great past two nights though. Had atleast three good tables running late night/morning. Anyone one else there?

I have not been to foxwoods where the 10/20 has not been running, if that answer's your question.

Thanks monkey, i usually go during the afternoon on the weekdays, its labeled as a "slow" time but sometimes the room is packed and still no 5/10. Meh, i guess on the weekend nights it runs more regularly.

Also when i play 4/8 sometimes ill just buy in for 10 BB's i usually run it up or i will reload if i have to, how much more of a difference is it buying in for 5/10 with $100 or 10/20 with $200?

Get the "List-Cam"!

I tried to take two different buses up to FW yesterday, but they weren't running because of the roads...had to settle for shoveling, speedskating, and dvr'd HSP eps.

Just wondering if anyone else has talked to the FW poker dealer who lived in Vegas, dealt at Palms/Mandalay Bay, and said he was on Celebrity Poker Showdown and HSP? Nice guy, good stories, I think I remember his name, but not sure if I should post it. I actually tried to watch HSP season 2 and see if I could spot him, but was unsuccesful. Maybe I forgot what the guy really looked like...I was talking to him in the midst of a 12+ hour session.

I'd settle for something like this from Borgata, but seeing the actual list would be even better.

Come on FW, step it up!
