talk about games of the future....HA, my opinion is the casino who first gets a regular 1/2 and 2/5 HA game is going to get a lot of biz.

yeah I mean the borg has a semi regular 1/2 PLO game with lots of action. but AFAIK its always just straight PLO. The few times I have played just PLO at FW the action has been great once or twice. but there has been few times that the PLO8 action has been very good IMO. that might have just been the times I played or whatever, but it just seems like a very complicated game for newb players to hop into. Ive seen plalyers just plop down a hundo or something get quartered and be like WTF this game sucks and never play again.

It is a super game for nits which is why I suspect alot of regs push for it because you can just nit it up untill you happen to get in a situation where you are free rolling for 3/4 the pot. just think reg PLO for the newb is more easy to understand for new players and they have a better chance of actully winning once and a while.

November WPT is 10000, right?

March is not a WPT event. It is not televised.

I just got an offer in my email for two free nights hotel room at mgm or foxwoods and I just booked mgm. It's a weekday offer only for March 1-4 or 7-11.

This has never happened to me before afaik as I play 1/2nl a few times per month only. No slots. Table games once in a blue moon for low stakes.

I forgot my rewards pin so I am unable to check my offers on the website. Perhaps these offers have been available all along?

Anyone else surprised by a hotel offer recently?

Anyone playing tonight?

I should be there around 7:30. I hope it's not 70+ names on the $1/$2 list like people were reporting last weekend.

Is there much of a difference in the quality of players between the $120/$180 NLHE MTTs at Foxwoods and the $230?

I've been making the transition from Internet to B&M and so I decided to start with the cheapest tourneys. I've played in like 5 or 6 and with the exception of one where I made a really bad read early on, I tend to play very well through the first 8 levels, then when the blinds and antes become huge I can't win a race and end up going out somewhere between 30th-20th.

I know I can be profitable at this game, and even the best player can easily go 6 tourneys without cashing, but since these are my first 6 it's a little disheartening.

Part of me wants to move up to the $230 because of 50% more starting chips and 25 minute levels. But with a slower structure, will the players be better, or will there still be two or three weak-tight players per table?

Just got back tonight after playing some $4-8 limit. Anybody know the rough odds on hitting the bad beat jackpot? It was around $250,000! I searched but couldn't find a straight answer, thanks.

I couldn't find any info online except for a wiki that could be old info. Is 5/10 still kill? And what's the opion on the softness of 4/8 vs 5/10? I'm looking to make a trip out and I'm sick of the rake/bbjp/tip pot killing at 2/4.

I get those hotel offers all the time, and rarely play at FW, maybe once every 4 months. However, whenever I call they tell me the promo rooms are all booked. A couple weeks ago was the first time I was ever actually able to cash in on it, but I got stuck at the Two Trees Inn. I think you were pretty lucky to actually get MGM.

Also- is there a shuttle or anything from MGM-Cedar? Otherwise I think it is a 20-30min walk to the poker room

I stayed over at Foxwoods a couple nights ago and put in almost 4hrs at 1/2. It was really fun. I don't get to the casinos often, so I don't have much experience there, but I play live cash games at my home a lot, and used to play NL25 a lot on Stars.

Anyway, I posted a hand for review elsewhere on the site, but I was hoping some of you FW regs might comment on this one, given your personal experience with the type of play there in the 1/2 games?

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/39...unsure-716992/

If you get a second and can comment, I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks guys.

Oh, and I will post a semi-lame Trip Report later. Nothing too exciting, but I like to write.

DM,

Snapcall is the only answer, considering the 70 left behind.

If you go to [URL="http://www.wizardofodds.com"], you will see that they calculate the odds of a BBJ being dealt, with FW's exact rules, as .0000052, or about 193,000 ten-handed deals to 1.
HOWEVER, they have to run the calculation assuming that all hands are played to the river, ie, no one ever folds. This would eliminate a lot of hands folded preflop or on the flop (suited connectors and gappers, pp's >7 which don't hit the flop).
So obviously the true odds are somewhat higher (perhaps 300,000/1?).
If so, if you played 30 hrs./wk all year, you would expect to be at a winning table about once in 7 years. During that time, you would have contributed roughly $10,000 to the BBJ in extra rake. GL!
As a side note, if we estimate the number of deals/day (including unraked pots <$20) at about 10-12,000 (you can get this from the $ amount added per day to the BBJ, which is 60% of the daily gross rake), we would expect the BBJ to get hit, on average, roughly about once every 4-5 weeks. This is about how it's been running so far FWIW. (Hit 4 times in 19 weeks to date.)
