So it’s a long process. First, unless you come with 3 other people, you have to wait for others to join your race. This in itself took 45 minutes on Sunday and 90 minutes today. After you complete the paperwork you have to watch an informative video that is 6-8 minutes long. You can wear a racing suit or just stay in your own clothes. If you are not wearing closed toed shoes you must wear their Toms(they used the word “rental” so they may charge for these) You must wear a head sock, helmet and neck brace which are all provided.
They had quite a few hiccups. The cars are gas powered and just stopped frequently. An employee must then go and restart the cars. If you take a turn too fast and your car spins, an employee has to come and turn you around. The races are 8 minutes long.
The lady at the check in desk yesterday was quite rude and seemed to be trying her hardest in discouraging people from racing.
It’s $30. They don’t accept points or give tier discounts.
If you go with children under 16, they have to compete in a juniors race which is a smaller car that maxes out at 25mph whereas the adult cars go 45mph

$30 for 8 minutes? Damn pricey.

And when is foxwoods going to open top golf? Everything gets delayed there.

I try my hardest to book within 24 hours of receiving offers. I have been able to switch some nights for September around recently and have had no issue. Sometimes I find calling gets better results than the website at last minute bookings

Cheapo Matt said it was worth it. The 8 minutes feels longer

Ive avoided Foxwoods for the last decade or so, preferring the atmosphere and seemingly softer games at MS, the newly opened MGM Springfield, and even traveling down to AC to play. I play exclusively 1/2, mostly on Friday and Saturday nights.

So I went to Foxwoods to play on Sunday, hoping the huge cheap tournament with a disgusting vig (60+26) would attract droves of bad tournament players to the 1/2 cash games. If it did, it wasn't at my tables! I played 4 tables, all of them were pretty solid. Very little limping, lots of folds to pfr, some half decent post flop play. Exploitable, but not 1/2 exploitable!

Did I get unlucky with tables, or do FW 1/2 games really play that much better? Was is it a function of Sunday afternoon games?

Has anyone ever seen the $10 chip being used in the poker room? Any particular game it is most useful in?

I saw it being used years ago in a $10/20 limit Hold’em game.

I had never seen them before, and then a couple weeks ago someone behind the cage knocked over a cart of chips - like thousands of chips - and I noticed racks of them all over the floor. They looked kind of like the $5k chips so obviously I was staring at them, but then realized they were $10 chips. I had never seen them in use before.

They're used in a particular limit game. I forget which one, but it's been a long time since I seen it spread.

I know the 10-20 runs during high hand days, but I can never make it those days. Maybe I'll order a rack and try to use it in 20-40 stud and see what happens

Don't bring tens to a game not using tens unless you intend to annoy the players.

I wouldn't try to annoy people but I've always been one to use odd currency (like half dollars and $2 bills). A lot of the time people see the $2 and question if they can even use it.

I own an Italian Ice business and just last weekend I had a guy come up and pay with 2 $2 bills. He said he always uses them just to show people that you still can.

$30 for 8 minutes isn't bad. Near me is an RPM - Electric Kart track and its $30 for 9 minutes. Although the way it was described I didn't need to do all that for RPM to get on the track.

The $10 chips are used in the 40/80 limit hold'em game which runs occasionally.

Hmmmm I dealt it there in 2013 before I left.
And I did speak to a certain player maybe couple years later, the game still ran on weekends and they were pissed that the room manager wouldn’t order new $10 chips cause they got rid of all their chips that had the MGM logos on em. Meaning every single chip had to be replaced.

I don't know if they were new or just never used, but the ones I saw were pristine.
