For a what it seems like a failing casino over the years, you would think its time to drop the rent/lease amounts to attract businesses in there and not look like an abandoned mall

Where did you see this? They have already started building inside. The rent issue should have been brought up before that happened

Staying for the first time in the Grand Pequot tomorrow. I remember there was an issue with parking because of the construction, is that still an issue?

No the original garage entrance is open, and the exit is back to one-way. I went in the exit way once after they changed it back, didn't even notice the cones were gone. Fortunately no cars came out.

I like to post at least once every three years; here's my triennial post. :-)

Foxwoods has eliminated King cards from their "Rewards" Card program effectively immediately. There are now only four tiers instead of five. In order, they are Wild, Crown, Ace, Royal.

Most existing Kings appear to have been converted to an Ace card, though some have been changed to Crown. However, the benefits for each level have also been modified (for example, the retail and restaurant discount for Aces has been reduced from fifteen percent to ten percent).

Probably the most significant change (i.e. - something that affects the greatest number of players) has been the elimination of guaranteed hotel rooms at all levels. No longer does any card guarantee you a single free room. According to the published 'card benefits' information, all hotels (whether free or discounted) are now based on play, even for Royals (wow!).

The full impact from these changes remains to be seen, though it stands to reason that the players harmed the most by these changes are the existing Ace Card holders. Regardless, if Foxwoods' history is any indicator, these changes were not made for the benefit of the player. The Rewards and VIP desks had no information about this whatsoever (literally clueless), so more information will be shared as it is learned.

The Pequot gym is very good. Lots of machines, etc.

TT and Cedar both have very small workout rooms that have limited amounts of equipment.

Haven't stayed at Fox Tower in over two years and can't picture the gym/spa in my head right this second.

I will be in Foxwoods for 10 days for the WSOP circuit event in May. Is there a room code for the hotel? What are reasonable hotel options?

pequot gym is decent but no heavy dumb bells (50 max).

foxtower has the best gym and spa by far, but also 50lb max dumb bells.

both only have smith machines. there's a barbell for arms at pequot.

cedar's gym is terrible, don't even try.

There is nothing listed online but the email I got about it had hotel codes.

Getting a chance to go down to foxwoods 4/8-4/10 (2 nights and 1 day) as a reward to myself as I switch jobs. Used to play a lot of 1/2 but only been 5 times in last two years.

Should I play cash only or mix in some daily tourneys? What's the proper time optimization to consider here? Also, while I only need 6 hours of sleep, I can only do 7 hours of poker before I need at least 3 hours rest.

So I noticed so noticed something today. I was bored waiting for our brunch reservation. Stuck $5 in a slot machine. 4th spin, win $100. Cash out immediately. Balance us like $103.75. Take it to new fancy cash out machine. Machine dishes out $103 and a voucher for 75 cents that you have to take to a cashier. PURE BRILLIANCE! How many people will never cash those out? Free money to FW.

Yup. I never bother cashing them.

Or play them again to try and get rid of em, which most likely will make them dish out more money to play after those credits are done! Genius whoever invented them

Anyone know if they'll be showing the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight anywhere at Foxwoods?

I'm sure the bars are looking at the pricing and will likely opt to not show it, or show it with a sizeable cover. FW may set up an event in one of the ballrooms though, which you may have to RSVP too if you even get an invite.

They're not showing it at the bars. They're showing it in the Pequot ballroom but I think it's invitation only. Yes you'd need to lock up your invite the same way you do comp tickets. I already have mine, I think the invites are all out.

Still hoping for an answer to a prior post but also curious if I could pull off some sort of 5-10 hour video poker marathon to rack up the points. Anyone ever tried that? I know the vp points are lower than regular slots, but say at $5 a hand, should still be worth something right?
