They have done this off and on since 9-11. I'd say with 50k+ people that pass through there each day, its not a big deal to do this. Better to be safe then sorry.

Played in the 120$ omaha 8+ tourney yesterday at 1 PM. Had a turnout of 20 people and lasted till 9th. Had several good low hands like A24x but never saw low flops. A lot of the players also were playing with only high cards. I'd say about 3/4 of the pots were won by high-only hands. I was mostly card dead with hands such as J 7 8 3 which is no good in hi/lo or just hi for that matter. It was fun to play and get the experience though. Also fun to point out: when we consolidated from 3 tables to 2 the chip leader was placed in the 7 seat. The guy had well over 15,000 in chips but after 30 minutes he was down to a shortstack. Why? Because he was limping in every hand and calling bets with non-nut hands. It just goes to show that you can't grab the chip lead and then get greedy and play every hand in an attempt to win every pot. He busted out before the final table. Overall a good experience but I'd love to try out the 5/10 limit omaha hi/lo cash game. Sadly there was only ever just an interest list when I check last night around 7ish. Oh well.

I assume you mean the Holdem BBJ. I'd say anything >400k starts drawing lots of people in, and higher players bump down in stakes to take a shot at it.

It probably hasn't been updated in a while. When it gets hit, the new jackpot is roughly 1/3 of the old one. So if 117k were new, it would've needed to be ~350k yesterday.

After JW hit it, it got hit soon after that. It was less than 125k this past weekend, I know that much.

Based on this, knowing the June 4th hit was $490k, and the average amount it goes up per day, 117k is probably right, maybe a day or 2 behind.

490k*.35 is 171k. Your numbers don't add up. Has to be another hit in there. Lets say it gets hit right after the 490 got hit that'll drop the BBJ down to ~60k.

Whole room was rocking pretty good overall despite the nice weather.

despite having a tough cash game regular to my left literally at both my tables all night I Was rolling along nicely, plowing through about 170 opponents fairly easily (picked up some nice hands and good spots + making good reads) when some dude open shoved AK at 4k-8K for about 90K. folds around to me in the big blind (190K stack) and i snap with KK. Of course he binks an A on the turn so that was unfortunate. about one orbit later like 3 people limp for 8K (LOL) and I jam in the SB with 88 for like 91K. Folds around to this asian guy who starts giving the table some speech about how i'm "trying to rob them" and that he "has me beat". This is after he almost mucked his cards saying "i can't call to himself" Basically he's just frustrated because he hasn't been able to play a hand in like 2 hours and he's bled from like 350K chip leader to a still respectable 200K. So he calls with get this, Q 10. I'm like, "wow sir you really nailed me there, your Q 10 has me smoked". You know what happens next. LOL Donkaments.
I been finding this pretty standard playing the sat deepstacks once you get to those blind levels anyone who sees any paint is shoving with any ace or 2 paints when their sitting on like <20 big blinds. Run better. . .did the 2 guys who sucked out both times donk off their chips?

It was kind of slow in the poker room yesterday, maybe father's day was the cause of that, but only 20 runners in the limit O8 tourney is a bit lame. I wish they would try a $120 or $240 plo or plo8 tourney. Maybe some of the players that have interest in pot limit would give it a try since the loses would be limited to the entry fee,

PLO8 went for over 40 hours starting Friday, and only broke when a bunch of players started a 10-20 ROE game.

There was also 3 attempts to get a plo high game going when the list exceeded 10 names, but we never got more than 4 to show up, so it never got off. The good thing was, at least the floor was open to calling the game while the plo8 game was running.

In the meantime, the limit o8 game had two full tables running most of Saturday afternoon and night.

I restarted the plo8 list when the game broke at 5:00 am along with 2 others, and our 3 names were the only names still up there when i left at 3 in the afternoon.

Very cool to see new faces each time we get the game going, and some of those new people expressed interest in plo high only, so hopefully we can grow on the interest of the game of the future and have at least one daily plo (8) table running.

On the other topic of the trunks getting checked, we were talking about that Saturday night at the table, we thought it was just the Vancouver police looking for the Stanley Cup!

It's the famed giant $100k bottle of champagne. There's a picture of it on the Foxwoods Facebook page.

now i can understand how blowing 100k on a bottle at FW isn't being massively ripped off. that's pretty cool.
