Despite all of the Burke fans in this thread, it is my opinion that Craftsteak is 20xs better. I am sure that Mad Maniac will back me up on this one.
Burke has some good dishes. The Kung Pao lobster is good. The pretzel crusted crab cake, shrimp and beef tip app, brick chicken and lobster tortellini.....and thats about it. I will never order a steak at Burke's again. Craftsteak just has them crushed in this area. Not even comparable and the couple of dollars per steak in savings is a non factor. They also charge $2 per refill on iced tea...?????? craziness, something that costs them fractions of pennies.
Craftsteak on the other hand is phenomenal. I eat there every week and although recently after a meal, we say that we should eat elsewhere next week, by the time Wednesday rolls around again, we are ready for our Craftsteak fix again. As far as apps, the Waygu tartare is the bomb. The bone in Ribeye is near perfect. they serve it with the marrow, so make sure that you slather that on every bite. They also serve the steaks with 3 gourmet sauces(free of charge, while Burke charges for theirs). I like the chimmichuri but that would require me to forego the marrow, which I am not willing to do. The yukon gold puree is perfection, gnocchi and the potato gratin are a must have as well. When I dine with others, I have been ordering the prix fixe as well. You get 4 courses, which vary but if the asparagus veloute and the short rib ravioli are on the menu that night, this is a must order for a mere $45.
Craftsteak also treats their regulars much better as well, IMO. Hardly a meal goes by without the kitchen sending out extra dishes for us. On recent trips we have had the good fortune of enjoying 2 plates of short rib ravioli, carrots with rosemary, potato peirogis with corned beef and truffles, onion rings and more, all complimentary of course. I also know that my standard iced tea will be a flat $5 charge even if I drink 6 glasses of it(which I normally do)
