Despite all of the Burke fans in this thread, it is my opinion that Craftsteak is 20xs better. I am sure that Mad Maniac will back me up on this one.

Burke has some good dishes. The Kung Pao lobster is good. The pretzel crusted crab cake, shrimp and beef tip app, brick chicken and lobster tortellini.....and thats about it. I will never order a steak at Burke's again. Craftsteak just has them crushed in this area. Not even comparable and the couple of dollars per steak in savings is a non factor. They also charge $2 per refill on iced tea...?????? craziness, something that costs them fractions of pennies.

Craftsteak on the other hand is phenomenal. I eat there every week and although recently after a meal, we say that we should eat elsewhere next week, by the time Wednesday rolls around again, we are ready for our Craftsteak fix again. As far as apps, the Waygu tartare is the bomb. The bone in Ribeye is near perfect. they serve it with the marrow, so make sure that you slather that on every bite. They also serve the steaks with 3 gourmet sauces(free of charge, while Burke charges for theirs). I like the chimmichuri but that would require me to forego the marrow, which I am not willing to do. The yukon gold puree is perfection, gnocchi and the potato gratin are a must have as well. When I dine with others, I have been ordering the prix fixe as well. You get 4 courses, which vary but if the asparagus veloute and the short rib ravioli are on the menu that night, this is a must order for a mere $45.
Craftsteak also treats their regulars much better as well, IMO. Hardly a meal goes by without the kitchen sending out extra dishes for us. On recent trips we have had the good fortune of enjoying 2 plates of short rib ravioli, carrots with rosemary, potato peirogis with corned beef and truffles, onion rings and more, all complimentary of course. I also know that my standard iced tea will be a flat $5 charge even if I drink 6 glasses of it(which I normally do)

Yup. Both are obviously pricey, but worth it, IMO. (I have to use up my points on something.) I think Burke's is more showy and innovative, but occasionally falls short on execution; Craftsteak is quieter (which I like), and the food is a little more traditional, but the execution has been flawless everytime I've eaten there. Service at Burke's is usually good; service at Craft has always been great. I like them both a lot, but I guess I'd go with Craftsteak if forced to choose.
Also, if you like (and are willing to pay for) dry-aged steaks, Burke's offers a choice of several, and dry-ages them onsite, whereas Craft only has one dry-aged steak on the menu (though it's very good), plus a big selection of corn- and grass-fed beef. But, hey, I can only eat one steak per night anyway.

Tyvm jpsychlady, great post. AHHH the waygu tartare I knew I forgot something. I must have just missed it on the menu bc I had been wanting to try that for a while. I'm just glad I didn't mess up the steak choice, as I got the bone in ribeye and it was amazing. lol, it took me half the meal to figure out the marrow was meant to be spread on the steak. I took a few bites of just the marrow before I was like ok this isn't right. Agree on the sauces they were great, although I did end up using the potatoes and cream sauce as the primary condiment. Might have to try DB next trip although that prix fixe sounds like a great deal (also if i'm craving oysters the sampler looked great).

Got graduation this weekend so won't be able to make it but will prob be there next weekend and maybe the weekend after. Will have to grab some dishes with yall.

The games should be great from May 14-22 during the Mega Stack Challenge, so a lot of us will definitely be there. It is a time where a lot of tournament players wet their feet in cash games and people in lower limits "take a shot" at 2/5 and 5/10.

And we usually get at least 1 10/25 game going, as well .

And I am never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever eating that wagyu tartare...just thinking about it...*queasy chills*

Just called someone at Foxwoods asking about room availability on Saturday of Memorial weekend. Lady told me the cheapest room they had was $489.

Seriously?

No, two trees would never get to that high of a price, unless two trees is fully booked, log in on the website then click the calender and try it like that and see what you get

I think she worked for Grand Pequot, don't even remember who I got. It just seems really shady how they'll tell you something like that when it's painfully obvious you can find cheaper rates on the FW site or Expedia or whatever. Watch out for Foxwoods ripoffs, folks, they're everywhere!

JP Is right; If you're looking to get a ribeye, Burke's pales in comparison to Craftsteak. Some of their other dishes are quite good (solid filet), and you're not gonna have a bad meal there, but for a ribeye it's Craft by a long shot. I've done quite a bit of steak eating over many cities/a couple continents, and I think craft is either #2 or #3 for me behind Cut in vegas (#1 AINEC) and this place I went in Tokyo.

Also Jerseys is crazy - the tartare was unreal dank good

Make sure to try the gnocchi if you haven't had it.

On-line (without being signed in)they have 2 trees listed at $299 which is fubar. When I logged in it showed me rooms in the Pequot and MGM for $350++, but had Two Trees available for $60 for double, $109 for jr suite. Weird. I suggest trying to call Two trees and begging for discount rate or looking elsewhere.
