i can't be the only one who thinks its real creepy that someone wants to chop a room and carpool with any random on the internet to save a few dollars, so they can go to a casino and spend money. will you be grinding the penny slots as well sir?
might i suggest you save a few dollars and stay at the MICROTEL

note to new and old online grinders:
things that are bad for the games-
-talking strategy at the table unless you are agreeing with a fish.
i know its been discussed before (IWSJ**!) but its not even so much the strat talk, its all the lingo that fish don't understand, 3bet/4bet ranges lines ev this makes fish feel ostracized. if you are going to talk about strat, try to do it in terms everyone can understand, use terms like raise, call, reraise, "i put you on". if fish can follow the conversation they won't feel left out, they might contribute to it, and they will be more likely to stay at the table.

like if i walk into jiffy lube and the guy blows me up with fast talking car lingo i'm not going back there. if they put it in normal person terms, i will return, and give them more money.

-things that are good for the games:
prop bets, showing cards, making goofy minimum bets (5 limpers for $5 make it $10 sometimes just to fk around), talking strategy *during the hand, instead of chopping run it blind for $50, both people flip one card over, random **** like this will make a live game different from the same boring **** fish play all the time, it makes it interesting and more fun for everyone. so what if it costs a few $ in direct ev.

also i was the 4th person at the must move where IWSJ ran KK in AA then claimed he "never tilts"! the whole sequence was extremely fun to watch

I have had 4 sessions playing live 5/10 where I made 10k or more, and 3 of them were in games like this. Games where everyone is gambling and having a good time are unbelievably profitable. The last 4 sessions I have played at the woods the games were pretty boring and nitty.

No!

Once you get dealt your first hand the nerves will settle down. Don't worry you'll do fine.

Not playing the 600. Hope they get 400+. It would be a good sign for the Monday tourney.

Doesn't look like the last few ~600 got more than about 350(no joke).

I think the $300 should get around 750 - 1000 players. The $600 will have around 700 players. I think because of the online players that they will double the fields. Small buyins.

Last may the 600 got 415. The 300 got 925.

I think both should see a boost due to lack of online poker. I'd still be surprised if the 600 gets more than 600, and 300 gets more than 1100. I think borgata has some tourney series taking place this week as well.

Well, it is official.

This is now the "Microtel Lodging and Related Discussion Thread."

Thanks a lot, Andy.

Turning stone also has a similar series running right now. I doubt they will draw many players away from Foxwoods, but it may have a small impact.
I'm about 50/50 for the $600 tomorrow. I hope the whole series draws strong because it will be a good sign of things to come in this new poker environment.

This... i do everything you mentioned lol.

i love the people who complain about games not having any action when they do nothing to inspire action.

Make it 10/25 NL and 5/10 PLO and I know myself and two others who would be interested. Or 5/10 NL and 2/5 PLO, which can EASILY get a full table.

I didn't even recognize you! That is like a bigger beat than running KK into AA twice in 5 hands...but at least you can confirm that I am the most gracious, entertaining loser on the face of the planet. Especially considering this happened at 2/5 and not 10/25.
