I'm in Texas right now and want to move somewhere I can play poker. Las Vegas is the obvious choice, but I lived in Eugene for a couple years (2009-2011) and it is by far the best place I have ever lived as far as quality of life. When I was there they had several strip mall poker rooms, but the only one I went to any was one downtown called Full House Poker. At the time they were spreading 1/2 NL and 2/5NL I believe, as well as running frequent low-stakes tourneys.
I'm just wondering what the scene is like several years later. Is it possible to make a living? For me, this is $20 - $30 an hour, which is what I was making online before Black Friday. I don't have a lot of experience with live play, though, as I only went to this room a handful of times after Black Friday. My ex-wife was insisting I give up on poker and I mostly obliged.
I'd love to live anywhere in the Pacific Northwest with a good poker scene, especially Vancouver, though I doubt I could get citizenship. I'd appreciate information about the rest of this region as well.
Also considering Reno, but there's a thread on that already. I am wondering how the 1/2 and 2/5 games compare between there and Las Vegas.
