MGM spent a ton of money blocking a casino in Port Huron. I am sure they will drop money to stop any competition (ever tho its only poker).
Right that it's 'only poker' and it's 'only' the charities losing money and 'only' the public that are out of jobs and back on unemployment.
So what options do we have? The casinos don't care about poker players and we should have a choice of where to play. If they want players to come downtown, they need to provide a service that has some value. The BBJ is the only thing they offer downtown. Since they made it so hard to hit, it is really of no value to most players since they will never see part of it.
I would much rather my rake go to charities and small businesses that care about the players and do everything they can to cater to us than to the casinos.
