So, are the Brick & Mortar Sports Books open?

If a casino is open .. and has a book .. it's open. Lots of them have Apps where you can prepare your bets before you arrive and then just scan them at the counter/kiosk for faster processing.

By the end of the month there should be a few that will accept payment via their App. GL

I've heard from a few people that the casinos are optimistic that they'll be able to run poker by the end of February. Who knows how credible this is.

I'm not really concerned about the games sucking; as mentioned earlier, the games in Texas and Florida are outstanding.

Before 'the queen' came out with her March 1st target for 100% live school return I would've thought 'never' on Detroit casino poker. But with the success of Four Wind's in South Bend there may be some interest in a casino contacting Gaming about getting a plan approved and implemented.

Gaming has been so focused on getting the online stuff going (which really should've been different staff) that I think live poker was pushed aside for now.

My thoughts are that Firekeepers will be the first place in Michigan to play live poker and that in itself will be enough to get Gaming to seriously look at allowing public casinos back in the loop as well .. if they are so inclined.

I can't imagine walking into MCC and not entering the smoke fog as you go down the escalator to the poker room. It will be an amazing experience .. GL

Just got the email -- MGM Poker room reopening Friday.

24/7 operation. 5 Tables, 8 handed with plexi barriers. Games $1/2, $2/5, $2/4 Limit, $2/5 PLO, others at request.

Have to leave the casino to drink *water* :eyeroll:

Will be interesting to see how that goes.

Hopefully Motor City will follow suit soon. With their overflow area and the main room, they should be able to seat more than 5 tables.

It’s in the email. See below:

Will food & beverage be available?

Due to current state regulations, all indoor food and beverage service is temporarily unavailable to ensure safety standards and consistent wearing of masks. Complimentary water is provided at the casino exit, and take-home carryout service (including coffee and sandwiches) is available at Roasted Bean. Players must leave the casino to consume any food & beverage (including water), and their seat may be held for up to 30 minutes. These protocols will be modified in compliance with any further regulations that permit food & beverage in the future.
If you’ve been to MGM since they reopened, this is the same thing they’re doing now. They offer a bottle of water at a table on the way out, but there’s a security guard in place monitoring the table and a sign that reads something like, “Complimentary water must be consumed outside the casino.” It’s all very LOL.

I imagine this will change on February 1 when indoor dining opens back up. Back in the summer/fall, you could pull down your mask to drink beverages as long as you were seated at a game. In my experience, security was actually pretty strict about monitoring for it, but at least you could drink.

Now we know this guy is a legit poker player ...

1) "Come on now, when are you bringing poker back!"

2) "What's with the long wait list?"

No word from Motor City, could be they just 'forgot' about poker after Gaming shut down their previous attempt to open back up.

Greektown has a plan, but not sure what it is per TPaul on Twitter. GL

Has anyone else noticed that Motorcity is no longer on Bravo? It's weird because last time I checked (probably a couple of weeks ago) Motorcity was still on there, like all the other closed Michigan rooms.

I'm probably reading too much into this, but just interesting.

More than likely MCC let their 'subscription' to Bravo lapse. Should be an easy fix once they choose to get going again. Hard to track Player promo stuff without a system like that 'running' the room.

I wonder if they 82nd guy on the 1/3 waiting list has gotten his seat yet at MGM .. .. I think it was 2 PLO, two 2/5 and only one 1/3 when I looked. it's three 1/2 and two 2/5 right now with about 10 on each list.

If the lists stay 'full' it may be hard to get a PLO game back up and running .. can't see them force breaking a table just to start another game. GL

Easy fix.. take your water to the bathroom, drink it.. pee... back at the table no longer than a bathroom break.

Now that online Sports betting and gaming will be allowed, how long until online poker is allowed? Last I recall from a few years ago the online poker rooms had to wait a few years before they would get a license. Is that right, or no?

From what I have been reading on the last page of this thread it should be in a week or so I think/hope.

For that foxbet $100 bonus, if we already have had pokerstars accounts, are we still eligible for the bonus?

The obvious answer is 'no'. If you use your name and/or email address that already in their system, it will probably be flagged as an existing user.

Now .. some fancy nancy email or phone call discussion explaining how you have moved into Michigan and therefore essentially are 'new' (or just 'back') might help.

I don't know how it was working before NJ/NV combined. I assume you needed an account in each location .. or they just needed to verify the IP/GPS on the device you were using?

In the short of it .. I'm sure you could find a way. In the long of it .. I don't really think that $100 is worth the risk of a ban if they do end up cross referencing your information somehow.

Use a device that is 'new' to FoxBet, but be accurate with your informaiton and see what happens. GL

Where the MGM trip reports at??

Are they taking call-ins? Will they call you if you put your name on massive list? Dealers solid- are they same ones from before? Floor handling their biz?

How about rumors about the other rooms? I'd hope they'd feel the pressure, and want to get their rooms open before big football games coming.

Hey all:

On opening day, I called in around 3 PM. The waiting list for 1/2 was 42.

I called in around midnight, and the waiting list was in the 90's for 1/2. At that point in time, they were running 2 1/2 games, 2 2/5 games and 1 PLO.

I did not recognize the voice or name of the person taking call ins. She said that they were going to "tighten up" the list and make sure that people waiting were actually there in person.

Even with tightening of the list, you would probably have NOT been able to get a seat at 1/2 within a couple hours of waiting. There were only 2 tables, with 8 seats at each. Assume a seat opens/turns over every 20 minutes at a table, and you get 6 open seats per hour. If you are number 93, that would take like 16 hours. Of course, some people are going to leave before they get called. Turnover might also pick up speed later in the night. Even so, the lines are simply silly.

MGM was smart to open first. Think of all the players standing around waiting to get a spot. I think a large percentage of them are going to get bored and play video poker or regular slots. How many poker players bring a wife, girlfriend, brother, mistress, friends with them? Those people wind up playing slots.

Until more rooms open up, I think MGM is going to have their 5 tables full 24/7.

No plans to head that way yet .. saving some pennies for LV maybe

Bravo has a text system built into it when your name starts to flash on the wait list. So make sure they have a good phone number for you. Not sure how long they're giving you to show up.

There were less than 10 per list last night when I looked around 9 PM .. There were only two 1/2 running this morning with no list.

Greektown was supposed to open 'soon' but no word from MCC. My guess is that they were caught flat footed about MGM opening and/or they've decided not to invest in the 'upgrades' to the tables. Might be tough to spread out the tables in their room as well. GL

You'd hope so, but that hasn't been the case (I've checked app all hours of the day). On the other hand I've noticed twice that late night Bravo has showed they've had 6 tables open. It didn't seem to be an error of the app. Can anyone confirm this actually happened?
