Played 6 hands, lost 1 big blind in 5 of them, 2 big blinds on the 6th. Had 10 bigs after that. Shoved AK over 6 limps and got folds, shoved AK over 5 limps again the very next hand and lost to JTo.

See you in another year+ charity tournaments lol.

Fixed limit hold'em in Detroit? Poking around, I'm not finding mention of anything as big as 10/20 or 20/40. True?

Great showing at Firekeepers for the $350 Bounty .. almost 300 entries. Cash was never shut down and all the alternates were well into play before the 2nd break. GR area players got the win ($14K) and 4th. Winner had 33% of the chips with 13 left but still had to wade his way to victory .. it took a while. He ended up with 19-20 $100 bounties on top of the winner's share. You can check out my FKeepers post for a little more 'stuff'.

Bravo tables at MCC continue to look 'down' to me. Saturday Noon had low tables with big lists so they were probably waiting for Dealers to show up and/or had those famous callers that MCC is know for! GL

I apologize if this is too late, but Doc's Poker Room and Wintergarden Poker Room, both in Livonia, are two great rooms that I play in several times a week.

Played the FK 350. Was not expecting play to be so damn loose! Maybe it was just my table, but players were playing like the bounty was $300, not $100. Found what I thought was a nice spot: had 20ish bbs, 3 limpers, including the button who had 150 bbs and was doing some extreme bounty hunting. I'm sb w/ KQ. I shove, unfortunately bb woke up w/ AK, who shoved for a bit more. Button called w/ Q3o lol. I woulda doubled through him...

I played in that crazy 1 3 omaha game for a bit. I was playing over my head but held my own for about an hour. Table saw me as tight, I actually worked in a couple of nice bluffs. Got in a huge 3 way hand for all my chips w/ 910jqcchh. Turned 2 hearts, 2 clubs, and an open ender, all of my outs were live, couldn't hit. Woulda been my biggest live pot won. Oh well.

All of the tournament play is 'cash like', even the $400. It gets a little better in the MSPT when/if you get past Level 6-7 or so, but that's when you start to get tight on chips also if you haven't chipped up.

Player I know shoved 40bb (160K) into a player who had just sat down at the table (opened for 11K) with about 40 to go (31 got paid?) and got insta-called (170K) by AQo. I'm not sure I want to know what either one of them was thinking at the time.

Which table of PLO? I was at the 'main' game through about 11 PM. GL

I've played many of the Sunday tournaments, never seen it as loose as the $350.
I was at the plo table where the Arabic Hulk looking guy was. He won the pot I described above. Third player in the hand was in a wheelchair. Wheelchair had potted bare aces every street blindly. Hulk called down w/ two pair.

Strongly recommend Doc's Sports Retreat and Wintergarden. I'm going to miss the hell out of these rooms after I move to Ann Arbor in the fall - has anyone tried Malarky's in Westland? I heard the tournaments are garbage but that the cash games are crazy action.

It's been a while since I've been to Malarkeys, but it was decent. Same with Vision. Cash games were juicy, dealers competent enough, etc.

The pair of rooms in Ypsi are pretty close to Ann Arbor and reasonably convenient. I've been playing in home games instead recently though. Can be hit or miss where sometimes they're the juiciest games you've ever seen, and sometimes completely dead.

The tournament structures at Malarkey's will give you cancer.

I am going to have to keep that in mind regarding Ann Arbor/Ypsi! That will be very useful when I am in Ann Arbor for the next two years. I unforunately never really play in home games, likely due to a huge age gap between me and the people I usually play with and not wanting to invite someone significantly younger over.

LOL, so I've heard. I'm just gonna stick to Momo's for tonight as I have heard Vision Lanes is worse than Momo's! I wish there was a good structured tournament nearby.

Maybe you take all their money and they've had enough of that. Or maybe they just don't like you.

^ Lol, probably one of those

I played at Momo's last night..Blinds were up to 1000/2000 and I had $225000. I raised it to $12,000 with two limpers from the CO with QQ and the BTN, SB, and one of the limpers called. Board comes Q 10 9cc, it's checked to me and I bet 35000 and only the btn calls. Turn is 3x and I bet 65000, he comes over the top and I call. He shows down K8cc and the river is Ac and I was eliminated LOL.

I remember when this thread used to be hopping. Where'd everybody go? Is anyone going out for the World Series this year?

I was telling a youngster at MGM last night about the good old days with the MPM meets/podcasts.

We were talking about that the other day as well. We should have a get together sometime this spring. What dates are you going to be in Vegas and where are you staying?

As with golf, bowling, darts, softball ... and now poker ... where's the next generation of posters? Were we too tough on them? Did we not explain to them properly that there was work involved?

Unfortunately I do think that this type of format doesn't bode well as much going forward since we aren't 'real time' even with alerts (if you have them set up).

Also, I think 'generations' are much shorter than they used to be. So by the time 'a person' would even normally join in here that 1 to 2 generations of 'stuff' has (or is) passing by, which creates an artificial connection gap.

We are still talking about Moneymaker .. and specifically over the weekend 'the bluff' ... that started it all. How many generations have 'passed' since then? GL

Spent the weekend in Mt. P (yes, by choice) and was pleasantly surprised. With the poker room across the street the tone in the room seemed much more relaxed. They had 5-7 tables going most of Saturday night .. The action could've been better but there was chips to be had.

Their renovations will have the poker room moving to the back of the casino where the High Rollers are now. The 6-7 stages are well ahead of schedule according to staff ... FREE food (pizza, subs, chips/cheese, donuts) during the renovations as well.

They will be having their "Michigan Poker Open" in mid-April .. details yet to be fully released. GL

another thing is that the younger generation seems to shy away from forums in favor of social media platforms. I have seen other forums for other specific topics/issues go from being very active to almost completely dead once the forums create facebook groups, etc.
