I raise to $25 in MP after a weak UTG limper with KJ. Button calls (300-ish behind), BB calls (600 behind), and UTG calls (400 behind). I cover all.

Pot ($100): Flop comes J96. UTG donks $25 (the table had been very donk happy to this point), I raise to $125, button cold calls!!!!, BB cold calls!!!!, UTG calls. At this point, rightly or wrongly I am pretty much done with the hand unless something extreme happens.

Turn ($600): Turn is 9, checks all the way around.

River ($600): Q, check to button, who shoves for $160, all fold to me, and I decide I have to look him up, due to the pot odds, and the fact that he has to shove the turn with any hand that is ahead of me. I call, and he says "You win."
I understand you are getting great pot odds, how often do you think QT and T8 are in villains range? You mentioned that villain would have shoved any hand that beats you on the turn, do you think these two obvious straight draws might still check turn and shove river when they make top pair or the straight?

I don't think the problem is pot limit vs. limit, per se. LO8 rewards people who have some level of sane hand selection, hit their cards...and that's about it. Because PLO8 allows you to bluff on occasion and getting quartered can be serious business, it's much more of a skill game. The real issue was that the table was short handed because we ate all the fish.
I think ill be sitting out for a few weeks. Im already feeling poker burnout and I want to feel fresh for Vegas next month. Im sure I might be sitting out even longer after Vegas after going busto on day five.

Don't be so results oriented. Win at poker and bust at craps like everyone else! I hope you have a great time in Vegas. Should be a good TR.

So the final table starts with 15 seconds left in the round. Blinds are 20k/40k. I have 260k and am first to act... I fold. We go on break after this hand.

So Im on break and watching some football and notice the clock had been paused. I walk back to the final table and am imformed that everyone is chopping????? What the ****? At this point I say "thats cool.. ever consider asking everyone first if they agree to this"?

At this point, a lady that made the final table ( we will just call her crack head lady) begins to beg me to agree. Literally BEGS!!!

Im pretty pissed about sitting there all night, making a final table and then not finishing it but I end up agreeing because its late and I have to work in the morning, plus I end up making +$200.

While waiting for the money, another gentlemen walks up and asks what is going on. He too was at the final tabel and wasnt asked either. Again, the crack head lady steps in and begs him also and he caves in.

Lame...Stupid... Waste of Time

Cliffs:
-Dont play cards with crack heads.

I was glad to see Four Aces busy and packed. The room gets some shady players but the room is run very well and the staff is pretty nice.

Also, I had the chance to meet Crazyb16 and that was pretty cool. Its always nice to meet people from this thread IRL and Im always happy when they are "nice guy" in the room and not the douche that is yelling at everyone.

Grats on the score. Couldn't have been that bad if you made about a buy-in at 1/2. I like their PLO8 tournaments there. Will probably try to play the next one.

A preview of future trip report

Day 1-2: omg poker is ez
Day 3: can't win a flip to save my life...going to chill tomorrow.
Day 4: f u craps...going to focus and grind all day tomorrow
Day 5: I hate life, get me out of this god forsaken place
Day 6: (at airport in front of a wheel of fortune slot with my last $20) ONE TIME!!!

I am going with another poker player, who is a table games nit so I hope that keeps me on the straight and narrow. Plus I got talked into seeing Motley Crue at the Hard Rock on day 4 which should yield some skanky results. All and all a silly time will be had. Actually hope to hit up some breweries this trip, smI've never been to any of them out there. Hell I don't recall ever paying for a drink...

lol sounds just like my last trip to Vegas. Except I dumped $200 on that damn WoF slot. Progressive was at $2 million! Sounds like fun, bud.

Pretty accurate report of four aces. We like to call it Mos Eisley poker room. "You'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy, we must be cautious"

You'll never run into a 5 dollar rebuy that's taken so seriously. Bracelet events at the WSOP are less tense. Its a weird bizzaro world where 7-10x raises are standard for the first few lvls. Opening pots for 40 percent of their stack pre and folding to an all in...standard. Fists slam into tables after another five dollar buyin goes up into flames. Min cashers proudly announcing their masterstroke of how they never rebought...oh and the begging for chops.

In a goofy way I love to play there 2-3 times a year, its a strange place and does draw people in. Im also a fan of dive bars.

I live less then 3 minutes from here. The game here is totally different from any other place i have played. I played the tournament sitting with 99 and baffled. flop w 4s4x2s(something similar) and there was a a over bet of ? 20k into a pot of 4k where the villain #1 bet 50% of their stack another guy (villain #2) shoves for not much more. and i am sitting there w 99 confused. i fold and villain #1 shows AK and villain #2 says he has a draw with 36 or something stupid.

that was the last time i played that tournament. Mostly because what 1st place pays is half of what you can win at snookers. I don't think anyone has ever read a book. If your hands can hold up i imagine you can win alot. People there look at the game as luck and not skill.

I had one hand where villain varied his raise sizes. $12. $15 and $17 when he had a big hand. This time he made it $12 which i took for weakness. He raised and since everyone likes to see flops they pretty much all call. with 5 people sitting with $12 in the pot i shove $70 to win the pot or get heads up with a Big Ace. Original raiser calls and shows Ac4c.Everyone else folds. I loled inside when dragging the pot. Funny thing is the guy got completely was completely furious with me for shoving there. As if i gave him some sort of a bad beat with his Ac4c.

Only place i felt uncomfortable leaving tho. Also it is kind of weird when randoms ask you for a ride home. I do however like the staff.

Hey guys, I have been on a bit of a poker hiatus as other priorities have taken up my time and I'm too lazy at the moment to read through the last week that I have missed, lol. However, I'm back. This thread has taken off to a whole new level so it almost needs to be a daily thing to keep up. I'll be up at MCC tonight around 8:30, tall guy early 20's wearing a black hoodie/shirt. Come say hey!

PokerYoungster,

I don't think QT is in his range very often to bet there. I think he would likely be very happy to take a free showdown there given the strength everyone showed. I do think there is a chance he shows up with T8 here, but I have seen just too many weird hands happen live where I can't believe the hands that are tabled, so it really was a no-brainer call.

+1

very few players are good enough to vbet QT there, so his range is polarized for sure.

Most rec players are:

Nice to finally meet you too. btw thanks for organizing the meetup at cadas.

It was nice of that crackhead to broker a ****ty deal for everyone after 5+ hours of play. I saw you give her a few words before you left, so did a few of the others from what i saw. Less time spent in her presence is def a life win anyway.
