Is this game going to run this week? I would be interested in playing in it.

Waiting for the cash game to get started at Big Beaver Tavern. Tournament tonight is $30 NLHE and is filling up. Anyone interested in playing some cash I'll be hanging here for a bit. Just say 'sup bro as usual.

We'll be looking for a Trip Report.

Hey guys just stopping in to say that the 1/2 games at Docs in livonia last week were some of the sickest/deepest 1 2 game I've ever been apart of. Wed night is omaha night there and we had guys leaving the omaha game to play at our table.

The largest stack was 1600 and we had 5 others with 500 to 1000. The games have been good there lately, especially wed night.

With free food. Nice enviornment and cute waitresses, it's a great game.

I liked the room! It is in the finished basement of the Big Beaver Tavern on Big Beaver just east of I-75. When I got there around 6:30 pm there were no tables going, but shortly there was a $30 tournament that filled up to over 50 players and two cash tables. I played in the cash game for about 4 hours and it was a swingy session for me.

I lost a few hands early where I hit top pair and draws came in and my opponents bet them. There were quite a few competent players at the table. I don't think anyone got out of line much, but there were a couple of soft spots. in fact, while sitting there, I even considered that the other regulars were probably considering me a soft spot.

I could not get paid off on two hands where I hit trips and a possible flush completed on the river. Both times I was out of position, once I checked the river to call a small bet, but got checked behind and the second time I had a feeling the player would not call a bet with the scary flush card on the river, so I was hoping for them to bluff at it, but nope, checked behind.

Only got into one pre-flop battle with one of the competent regs at the table. I have opened like three hands in a row, and then got QQ UTG. I think he must have thought I was raising light because of how active I was. He re-popped my raise, and I didn't want to call a 3bet out of position, and I knew I wasn't going to fold. His raise really didn't give much choice but to shove. And then he tanked (phew, no KK or AA), and ended up calling but never showed his hand. I hit a queen on the flop and my set survived.

Near the end of the night I lost almost all my chips in a hand with weird pre-flop action. UTG raises to $7, four callers including me in the SB with 78cc. Big blind, a loose fish player, raises to $14. I thought he had just made it possible for the UTG raiser (the same competent player from the QQ hand) to steal the whole thing here or go heads up with a big re-raise, but he just calls! I was really surprised about this, but it may have meant he was raising light UTG? Anyway, predictably everyone calls and we go 6-handed to the flop. Flop is 7-Q-8 two hearts. I check, BB checks (?), UTG checks (?), UTG+1 goes all in for $120, folds to me, I go all-in, and everyone else folds. I flip over my two pair, he flips over AQo, turn goes J, river is a J. Good hand, sir.

The best part of the whole night was how friendly the action was. Most people had played with each other and seemed pretty comfortable with the ribbing and teasing going on at the table. It was very enjoyable.

Hey Pharoah. Do you know Steeser? He says he plays in that game too. Where exactly is this room? I will add it to my list of rooms to visit.

If he knows me, it's not by steeser....I have never said anything about 2+2 at the tables, not even "sup bro"....

More of my play is at Northville, but I do agree that the games at Doc's can be crazy good.

It's at 7 mile, just off of 275 in Livonia.

Ok guys, I apologize for the delay. I have been super busy with stuff, but went back to Snookers yesterday, and guess what? I have to go TODAY to talk to the right guy. I'm aiming for next Saturday, the 9th, or the following saturday, the 16th if we absolutely have to. Again, if any day works better or if a day does NOT work for you, please let me know. Otherwise, we should have something finalized in the next day or two!

Again, I think we were shooting for NLO8, and again, if anyone pretty much demands we play PLO8 instead, I'll make sure we get it that way. However, as the time approaches, I'm sure we can change it to PLO8 if need be.

I'm in. I'll ask my home game buds if they want to play in it since they love O8. PLO8 discourages crazy all-ins pre-flop, but I'm willing to try NLO8. Sounds fun. Let me know what time.

Well the all in preflop stuff is usually done by short stacks. I'm not sure how many people would be buying in that short live. Like I said, it'd be a great experiment, and if the game turns out to be all in preflop every hand, I'm sure the next time we play we can switch to PLO8.

Is the bill of your hat flat, or curved?

Okay, I'm going to have to check out the room. What time does the cash game action get started at Northville Downs on Friday nights?
Detroit Quote

first game starts at 12 noon....running cash all day from 3-5 tables. Over 90 players in a $40 tourney. Friday nights are crazy busy at northville and the horses will be running

Northville has probably the most consistant cash tables out of all the charity rooms. I wouldn't say 3 to 5 but defitnally 1 to 3 is standard at all days and times.

Nowhere near, I've been to Northville on a number of occasions and I walk in expecting 2 cash games, 3 max. This is nowhere near the most consistent, out towards Novi/Northville, it might be the most consistent.

I've never been in Snookers when there was less than 3 tables.

Almost always at least 4 tables, if not 6.

We have an interview at the Poker Palace in Burton for our podcast tonight, so Northville will have to wait. Do want to check it out. I've been to Snookers too, so I will be able to compare. They both sound like they have good action.

Omaha,

If you are in Burton tonite, you should drop by Legend's in Metamora. Shoot East on I69, south about 3 miles on M24.

Not alot of traffic, but usually very good action amounst the regs. We usually try to get a 1/2 RXR going by the end of the night.

Ask for Nevin, the room manager, or Jason (me)

I was replying to his question on Friday nights. 3-5 is normal.. Usually by 4pm the are 3-4 games going. you may lose one by the start of the tourney, but by 9-10 pm there should be 4-5 cash games on friday night..

The consistency is there is always a cash game from open to close everyday.
