But yea, the only time I have found the games good there has been on Friday/Saturday night, and that is when they have the obnoxious music playing at the club right next to it which I find pretty tilting. Also, I agree on the dealers as well. The dealers are pretty awful with the exception of a few. Bottom line I guess is to stay away from MGM, which is too bad because overall it is by far the nicest casino in Detroit.
I think the reason regs often stay at the same room is a comfort zone type of thing. Its like going to a class, and for some reason always sticking to sitting in the same vicinity in the room for unexplainable reasons

I use to love playing at MGM on the weekends.. I would have the best results when I would show up are 2:20 AM and play until around 11 AM. That way the music from the club was over and half the people playing were either drunk or tired. And I agree that MGM is the nicest overall casino downtown.

The HPT is pretty darn good. I love the fact that they only rake 10% of the prize pool. I love the satellites. I love the blind stucture. Only thing keeping it from being great, imo, is the very top heavy payout structure of the main event. Cash games starting the Thursday before are usually pretty good and I've seen 5/10 games and RxR games offered every time.

The end of month deep stack at the Eagle is interesting. Again, very top heavy so they can claim a $10k payout. Only pays 15 of 180 runners. Blind structure is solid except for a few hiccups that have never been addressed such as 500/1000, 600/1200, 700/1400, 800/1600, 900/1800, 1000/2000, 2000/4000. 1k/2k to 2k/4k?, c'mon eliminate the 900/1800 and add a 1500/3000 level you clowns.

I highly recommend getting there by 6pm Friday because it is often sold out around 8pm, but with Thanksgiving being that Thursday I don't know. Occasionally on weird weekends like this they don't quite sell out. The action is usually great the Friday night before the deepstack and still pretty darn good Saturday. Almost always a 2/5 game or 2 on deepstack weekends and I've seen 2/5 RxR games as well though I don't play them myself. Again, could be weird because of Thanksgiving so I can't guarantee it.

It would be nice to play the HPT Main Event but the structure is not worthy of a $1,600 buy in. I have played $345 tournaments with far better structure than the HPT. Don't get me wrong, I would love to play it but only if I satellite into it.
Me and my girl are going to Mt.Pleasant tomorrow morning until Sunday. I plan on playing the $80 and $120 Single Table Satellites into the $330 Mega's on Friday and Saturday at 6:30pm
Hopefully I can win a seat this weekend! I will keep you guys posted.

At soaring eagle now. Played all day today. ****ty action here. I mean, it wasnt bad, but nothing different than back home. I mean, it is bad that there are only 2 tables all day. I also feel if you arent following the list real close that theyll skip you for a reg standing right there. Maybe thats just me, but it took over 2 hours to get a seat.

Good action....300 max 1/2 buy in helps. I have seen peeps cash out 2500+ in their 1-2 game. They run a 2-5 game on Tuesday night thats juicy too. They are doing Heartland satalights this Saturday at 3pm.....$120 buy-in 18 players 1650 to winner

Heard this week they got all their tables and equipment, but not ready to open until next week.

Wouldn't mind hearing a status report on the status of Sunnybrook if you end up there.

The eagle's 1/2 is 400 max actually, all their no limit/pot limit cash games are 200bb max buyins.

yeah the eagle's action is always super hit or miss, and i remember heartland week this year in may there was the same 1-2 tables running at night on like sunday-monday-tuesday but then wednesday-sunday of the event the place was packed, pretty much every table in use most of the time
