$400,000 bad beat jackpot hit at Gates last night! AAAA<steel wheel. A few regs for the big pieces so I was especially happy for them. It is now reset to about $360,000.

I haven't played there in a long time...didn't realize it was so high. Are they pretty busy most nights?? They aren't on the Bravo app so aren't on my radar.

Isle (2x) & GG in the past week. Sounds like BBJs hitting all over the place again.

2-5 1/2 games weekdays, 5-10 on weekends usually a 2/5 game and 5/10 O8 in the mix as well.

Bravo equipment just got in, should be installed in a week or two.

That's great news! For being the second busiest room (?), I'm surprised it took that long. Hopefully going up Thursday night to check it out.

I heard about this. 3 bad beats in 5 hours for one guy. talk about astronomical odds.

Was he just at the table or was one of the two hands?

Ameristar Rules Question:

Playing 1/2 on Saturday, I witnessed the following hand. Heads up, V1 three barrels, V2 calls the river bet, V1 says "You got me" and mucks his cards. V2 then mucks his cards, the pot is pushed to V2.

In this situation, I thought V2 had to show his cards to claim the pot.

Not sure on A* house rules, but many rooms have gotten away from the rule that a winning hand must be tabled.

is there a thread that goes into detail differences in how you should play our spread game as opposed to NL

Don't know. I do know semi bluffing is more attractive with a capped betting in that depending on pot size you can't be blown off your equity.

I posted this somewhere else in this thread when somebody asked, but this is the only article I've ever seen on the topic (see post #7): http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...primer-687963/

It's about 2/5-150, but it mostly still applies. I don't agree with everything in there, but it's a start.

Anyone have any info or hear any rumors regarding wpt regional returning to the Isle this fall? My assumption is that they are not having it this year.... But just wanted to make sure.

So ****ing ridiculous that this thread was closed. Finally somebody tries to discuss spread limit strategy and just because nobody who responded has a clue about spread limit the mod thinks OP is leveling and shuts it down. Ok I understand that folding aces preflop is stupid, but the basic ideas he trying to get across were spot on in my opinion. Complete joke.

That thread getting closed isn't a shock. OP was obviously leveling with half his comments. If you guys wants a SLHE thread, why not just create one and don't be a leveling douche? Thread should remain open if you follow those guidelines.

Cpc7 starts on Friday. Kind of excited for that, but disappointed that everything is Holdem. There is a little Omaha, but it would be nice to see some stud, razz, and a mixed game, like 8 game rotation, or even 10 game rotation.

The noon tourneys seem like the best structure overall.

I haven't played cash up there before though, anyone know how the cash games are during the cpc generally? I've found the tourneys to generally be pretty soft, but usually I only take enough to buy into a tourney and a little extra for tips. I was up there about s month ago for one of the 7pm tourneys and the place was super packed. I'd never seen it that packed and I had to wait almost 2 hours for a seat. Should have just played cash that night cause by the time I got a seat starting stack didn't have much play.

Also saw some pretty ridiculous angles, but that's par for the course I guess.

I'm not terribly good, bubbled the only 10am I played up there, and a few weeks later played a Sunday noon tourney that I was doing well in until I had to leave so shoved with a flush draw to either get the chip lead and make it worth staying and missing getting back to the springs for a prior commitment or go busto and make it on time. Played the 7pm a couple of times, the first doing well until getting collared (TT < 88 aipf), and the one where I was sat late I just made one big mistake that busted me. Only the Sunday one where I had to bail early was during a cpc, it was cpc six.

When I was up there a couple of weeks ago though the place was totally packed with people there from all over, several semipros and pros, but it still felt like a soft field.

I'm sure some here are regulars during the cpcs, so was curious if my impressions are right, or if I'm an overconfident fish, and also which events people feel are the best value. I know the 10am are a crapshoot, but the 7pm ones feel like terrible structure, with the noon events the only real decent values.

Thoughts?

Anyone remember me from the descriptions given? Curious of the opinion of people that I've been at a table with or tangled with.

Any information on the cripple creek games? I just moved to the springs for work but don't want to head over if the games aren't good. Any Omaha games going? Are there a lot of tables?

I've only gone to Cripple Creek a couple of times, but from what I've seen you'll find much better action at Black Hawk, and certainly way more tables.

Cripple creek basically just has a couple of tables at Midnight Rose, and they're really cramped.

Also from the Springs Black Hawk isn't much farther time wise. It's almost twice the distance, but it's almost all interstate, whereas going to Cripple Creek is on a dinky two lane highway through a bunch of tiny little towns.

Basically this. ^

Midnight Roses has more table than it looks like, but still rarely more than 7 active other than tournaments, and that is usually one 2/5SL, and the rest 1/2-100SL, with occasionally one 2/5-100SL. Almost always Hold Em only.

Other places with poker usually only have 2-10SL.
