Not sure if they are, but hopefully they will at least try to attract some of the traveling circuits like WSOP, MSPT, HPT, etc...

Also, a Quarterly or Bi-Yearly in-house MTT series like the Gates CPC series, would seem to be a great idea for all!

I mean, does Bally's not have a contract with the MSPT currently? And.. the HPT went bankrupt and sold off their remaining assets.

WSOP circuit requires rooms to have a certain number of tables in order to host an event. I'm not sure of the exact number but they haven't been around in awhile.

Has anyone received their 1099-MISC forms yet from any casinos where they won promo money such as bad beats or Monte Carlo hand payouts? This always seems to be the last tax form to arrive for me every year and it holds me up on filing my return. I was under the assumption all tax forms were required to be mailed out by the January 31st deadline. Is that assumption wrong?

Thanks,
Marco

We recently got a crazy pineapple game going at Bally's this past Thursday. We were unsure exactly when the 3rd card should be discarded. Should it be discarded in turn as each player makes their action on the flop, or does everyone fold their 3rd card after all action is complete on the flop and before the turn is tabled? I always assumed it the was latter as it's helpful to know how many players you will be up against going to the turn before deciding which cards you want to keep. It can affect strategy.

Thanks

Complet the round of betting then everyone discards at the same time imo. No disadvantage is created and it is faster?

How have the waits at Monarch been recently? Going to a concert at red rocks then heading out to the mountains for some poker and hiking this weekend

Just a mention that there is a 1-3 mixed game kicking off around 2pm today at Bally's. Currently 7 are signed up. Call to get on the list (303) 582-2600 option 1

I was playing 1-3 at Bally's tonight and a guy put his whole stack in preflop before the cards were dealt. I believe he was 2 off the button in the hijack. The dealer said action would start immediately to the left of the all in and treated it like a Mississippi straddle, however since the guy did not have any chips behind I told him it's action out of turn and the action would start under the gun like a normal hand with no straddle. He wasn't sure and called the floor over who also agreed with the dealer that action would start to the left of the 'out of turn action'. I explained that it can't be a straddle because a straddle must not be all in before the cards a dealt, and that it is treated as out of turn action.

Who is right here?

Feels like a blind all-in and would assume action would start UTG, no?

It’s always better to use your energy adjust to a ruling rather than nit pick it. Calling it out of turn action and starting under the gun might discourage him from putting his stack in dark but we want him to, right?

Also out of turn action isn’t binding if the action changes so if action starts under the gun and someone makes it 10, he would be able to pull his all in back. Making it a Mississippi makes the all in binding which imo is good for the game

Even at Monarch, where action starts UTG on all straddles, this blind all in action is still binding. It is essentially treated as an all in straddle with no option. While I agree with the logic of the original poster on this issue, allowing the all in to stand as a pseudo-straddle is what is best for the game.

I have never heard of a rule like this. More importantly, why are you trying to nitpick a minor detail that might discourage somebody from going all-in dark?

Wait wait, hold the phone captain carpal tunnel. Why would this dissuade anyone from going all in dark? I would think an all in "out of turn" would be more advantageous since they have the option to pull it back if there is a lot of action ahead of them, whereas with an all in "Mississippi Straddle" there is no option to take back your all in.

I'm simply asking for the official ruling so I know which is correct and that it is applied equally across the board in all instances.

Thinking of heading up for the CPC main end of September and wondering how much cash to bring. Considering its a main event and during a weekend what usually runs at Monarch? 10/20? 25/50?

Monarch cash games are pretty epic on weekends. Almost every Fri/Sat 10/25 w almost always /50 runs, you're short if under 5 figs. Some guys big d;;k it and will buyin 50 deep. 5/10 runs 3-4 nights a week and is a 5k cap. If you buyin less than 3k youre pretty short. 2/5 cap is 1500, id say most are buying in either strictly for 500 or strictly for 1500. We've been getting PLO running infrequently but 5/10/25 and players are deep. The CPC main is a $1200 and will be a small field. There is the high roller on tues thats def worth sticking around for. But for cash games realistically you're going to want to bring at least 50 if you play high stakes, prolly more.

A few of us locally would be smitten to swap your btc for our cash/chips, PM me if you want to discuss this or just shoot the s;;t about the games. I'm up there almost every weekend. Definitely stay at Monarch. Its the nuts.

Awesome - thank you! I booked a room at Monarch saturday night and will do my best to not completely punt away in the 10/25 at night. I will be the little annoying guy who is probably a few too many glasses of wine deep.
