In other news.. I saw Phil Ivey walking out of the casino into his limo yesterday at around 12pm. Apparently he plays at the casino 15-30 minutes at a time max (usually craps). He was with a host and looked like he has been up for days. Apparently he flew in via private jet from London to Montreal and was going back to Vegas. All in a days work for Ivey!

I don't think house edge in craps is >10%. So does this just mean that he is playing +EV craps.

I'm sure it's still negative ev. It's basically comps they wouldn't offer it if it hurt the house. We all know how stingy CDM is. For example if you go upstairs to "play" blackjack/other table games they will give you Tropicana orange juice and smoothies and such free or just a tip (they sell for 3.95in the cafeteria), but they won't offer this on any other floor.

I'll be happy when they either lower the rake or offer better food. Which ever comes first.

heh i can see why.. i was at a 1/2 table waiting to play higher.. will never play 1/2 again... i raise ak utg to 10 dollars i get 4 callers and flop comes k92 rainbow. I cbet to 28. I get 2 callers. turn 4. I check next guy checks .. guy with 80 in front of him on the button goes all in i call next guy in hijack shows queens and folds. Guy on button shows aces. Both players flat 10 dollars pre hah...

500 + 65 tournament June 9.. should be good action at the casino.
Formula 1 is coming to Montreal.

5/10 table flipped for 2 seats yesterday (put in 70 x 8 players) .. and i got k9 diamonds first hand.. flop 946 two diamonds.. somehow i lose to 5j off when it goes running 5's hah. Next flip a few hours later i got 59 off and won hitting trip 5's. Justice

lol yesterday some asian dude who had just lost 5k on 5/10 sat on my 1/2 table and started blind raising to 24$ every hand... I never got to be in a good spot to isolate him, but he ended up giving away quite a bit, when I left a dude on my table had a 2k+ stack after he won a 700bb pot from a dude who must have misread the 4 card straight board...

So how are things at the Cas during the Grand Prix? Any changes I should anticipate if I decide to go? How much of a bump in traffic does the poker room get?

The F1 is the biggest tourist weekend in Montreal!
I am sure it will be busy.
There is a big tourney June 9th so not a good day to play cash (at least for the first few hours whatever time it starts).

Call-in to play 2/5 or higher...the wait might be brutal on the weekend.

Also I bet the 10/25 Game at playground will be running on the weekend for anyone who can afford to play that high

Big games are the casino this weekend.. Good luck to all playing the $560 entry tournament today! Starts at 12pm! last checked there was around 50 entries.. probably will sell out at 120.

The casino is going to be an ocean this weekend because of the F1... I'll probably be grinding by 10AM on Saturday with many friends and I'd suggest anyone else who wants to play to arrive very early too to avoid waiting times of 2+ hours.

I'm pretty sure that they let you call in now. I haven't actually done that yet though so I don't know how it works but I have seen people being put on waitlists.

Btw this weekend is going to be hell so I'll be metroing it too. If any of you wanna come say hi, Im an Asian guy with a faux hawk and glasses, going to register under Jack.
