The jitneys do stop at all casinos, but there are 3 different routes, you have to make sure you get on the correct one. I believe it does go all night long, but not completely sure about that.

In order of frequency, players in this game buy in for 2k, 1k, and 3k

Stan (and Tab):
Attendance at the new Tuesday $60+$15 re-entry tourney does not look like a blockbuster. And "Survivor" patronage on Sundays and Fridays isn't exactly setting the world on fire, either.
The old cliche I always adhered to was, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
I always felt that the $100+$20 tourney (with 200 big blinds to start) was the perfect "sweet spot" for a buy-in. Enough to keep out the unwashed homeless panhandlers from the Boardwalk and also enough to create a modest, but decent size, prize pool.
Just one point of view - I'm sure there are others who may not agree.

Hi Stan,

Love the room and enjoy playing there. I'd like to ask a question, if you don't mind. What effect you think the recent approval of table games in Charles Town, WV might have on AC poker in general, and the Borgata specifically? A significant portion of player base comes from the DC area, and they will have casino poker available come June/July less than an hour away.

I think if it comes soon to Philadelphia Park, that will have an even bigger impact.

That would be a great game. The 2/5 buyin for $500 is a bit shortstacked to start off with

I actually agree. Although I dont play much tournaments, when i did, it was usually the Sunday morning $100+$20. Always had a nice turnout and structure was good. I totally hate the survivor tournaments!

"JITNEY ROUTES

Jitney Buses run frequently 24 hours a day. The Jitney stops are located on the corner of every route and originate one block from the Boardwalk on Pacific Avenue. For your convenience, every sign located by each casino stop has color-coded numbers."

iow, they run like, errr......jwow....24hours a day. They will bump you around quite lot if you sit in the back, and they do not stop.

The jitney, and the train shuttle at the borgata are out the poker room to the right, then out the doors and then left......

anyone ever take notice of those signs that said "Don't let Harrahs CRUSH the Jitney" and they had that huge monkey king kong style on them....pretty sweet IMO

I haven't ridden them in more than a year, but I remember those signs. My reaction almost always was "Please, Harrah's, finish them off ASAP". It's not a very pleasant experience, and I'm one of the few who didn't really mind riding the bus to AC.

Stan,

I would like to see the Borgata be forward thinking on further game selection and spread two new games off your current 2/5 pool.

1) make one or two tables a deepstack option. minimum $400 - max $1k buy ins.

2) at a slower time when dealers are looking for tables to pitch cards and make tips, make a few stud tables by the back wall into six-max. you could also host this game in the back tourney area as well.

we know how live players don't like the idea of starting short but making a table a clearcut "short-handed" table and / or "deep stacked", those options will appeal to a lot of internet-bred players who's earn is significantly shorted by 10-handed 100bbs games.

between the two choices, i'd prefer a deep-stack option to be implemented first.

You must drive pretty fast, DC is over 150 miles from Charlestown.

Actually, it's only about half that. According to Google Maps, it is only about 70 miles from DC, but he did say "the DC area", not just DC. The DC area includes much of northern VA, which is where I live. According to Google Maps, I am only 40 miles from Charles Town (about an hour away). He may have exaggerated a bit when he said under an hour, but he wasn't far off. And it is a hell of a lot better the the 3.5 hours it takes me to get to AC. Charles Town will be a day trip for me while I only go to AC when I plan on staying a couple days.

Depending on how good the poker room is at Charles Town, I'm not sure how often I'm going to be going to AC after it opens. I'm sure I will still go up there when the big tournaments are going on, but I probably won't be going up there every 3 or 4 weeks like I do now.

You are probably confusing Charleston (capital city of WV, near the center of the state), with Charles Town race track (Ranson, in far eastern WV).

I have to agree. Back when it was a ~$50 with 1 rebuy/add on, people played tight until the end of the hour.. then most people did the add on. In effect it wasted the first hour and the ~$100 got in play anyways.

I feel this is playing the same as then.. people are playing tight (irregardless that they can re-enter) for the first few levels... and then the tourney "starts" with the antes. By then most people are in for just $60 making a smaller $ pool.

If you want to help play move along.. maybe do a "first 10 out" sit-n-go. At $100+20, reserve the $20 from ten of the people, thus a $200 pool. The first 10 people play a sit-n-go (they have to pay a $5 fee) and top two get $100 each. Same chip structure as your $30 sit-n-go.

This might make people move faster.. Just an idea..

B.

So is it an appropriate time to start pushing for a Borgata stop on the new NAPT? Nothing like a nice juicy tournament flooded with online satellite entries, eh Tab?

question about the survivor cash. i'm going to borgata for the first time[water club, is that good?] , only have played poker 2 or 3 times so i'm not familiar with all the different types of tournaments.

"#
# One in every ten players will win $1,500 in CASH. Residual cash will be paid to player who finishes next after all $1,500 Cash Prizes have been awarded. "

Is it basically if 100 people enter, the top 10 get $1500 each?

Also anyone know the amount of people who usually enter the sat 11am tourney? wondering if i should do that or just watch the jets game.

thanks!!

+1 for increasing the 2-5 buy in to 1k max. I think this would be awesome, even if u just offer it in some of the games.

I believe that any casino affiliated with the WPT has an exclusive with the WPT (can you confirm Stan or Tab). I am pretty sure I have heard this before. Perhaps there would be another casino in AC that would host a NAPT tourney. (not sure where though, as Harrahs and Ceasars are WSOPC stops so they would be out).
