There are ton of meat processors in Duval county. The only one I have used to get gator meat was Geiger meats. http://www.geigermeats.net/

Call ahead and ask about the availability of the alligator. Make sure to get the Gator "wings" and the spicy gator sausage. They sell great rabbit meat too.

Also the alligator is farm-raised iirc

October satellites are posted on their website for the upcoming WPT events, running November 1 - 19. Basically every Saturday and Wednesday in October they have a 12:30 $390 sattelite into ME. Should be fun!

The management of Best Bet have decided they were not doing enough to kill the golden goose so they have increased the rake above 10% for small pots and increased the jackpot drop to $2. The games were already slowing down since the badly planned cap structure in the games seems to motivate people to play higher than they should and lose their money faster. The average stack size on 2-5 games had already dropped from 100bb+ not long ago to at best 50bb with 3-4 players on each table at 10-20bb. Now that they are taking another $40 or so off the table every hour the games are only going to get worse. There are almost never 5-10 games.

I think a part of their logic is that if they get lucky and get a larger band beat jackpot they might have periods of time where people travel into to win the lottery, but the games are terrible when jackpots are high as it further encourages short buys.

I think the poker room owners might want to think though this player unfriendly world they are creating. I for one will be happy to join other players to work towards getting rid of the the regional monopolies owned by the parimutuels. It used to be no one cared but there are so many more poker players now - creating a large force of potential voters we can mobilize when the next round of gaming legislation comes up. We need some real competition.
