There is a poker host you can call or email to get the rates if you want to double check. Not sure if they'll want to rate you first if you're a new player there. When I first did it, they wanted to make sure you were putting in 6 hours a day in the poker room. Now that the discount is so meh, they might not bother with that, not sure.
Thanks for the info, I will stick to Wynn then better hotel anyways.

The Wynn is probably better anyway since you can't call in ahead to that room and you'll have somewhere to go if you don't want to play the slots/pits while you wait. Once you know what's going on there, then you can use Bravo and Poker Atlas to figure out your agenda. The walk to Resorts World was a bit weird the last time I was there due to construction fencing, but it's fine (for me) or you can get up/down the strip pretty easy otherwise. GL

How many 1/2, 1/3, 2/5 NLHE games are normally running at the Bellagio?

How is the quality of play at the Bellagio? When is the best time to play? I'm really just looking for the softest action, be it here or elsewhere. I know it will vary day to day, table to table, but general direction would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I've found very good action mid-day. You have some of the deep older Regs rolling in and you also have Players that have checked out of the hotel but are waiting to go to the airport and/or are trying to recoup last night's losses. You typically start to see some turnover around 3pm.

If you are looking to play 5/10 or larger then it's the late night, early morning hours that seem to be the target. Plenty of vloggers that roll thru from 10pm to 4am.

While I had excellent luck at Resorts World during the Series, it can be hit or miss .. but when it hits it hits hard!

Standbys are always Aria, Venetian and Encore but I have no beefs with Bellagio. GL

Do you think it's possible to grind a living playing 1/3 or 1/2 (if they spread it) at the Bellagio and still grind up a roll for 2/5 and do the same for 2/5 to 5/10?

There are a million threads about this elsewhere on 2+2.

Cliffs notes:

It's not all that predictable where the better games will be at any particular times, but in general the smaller rooms will typically have games that are a bit better than the major rooms. But there's really little reason to limit yourself to one room if you're playing games that are available at 20 places in Las Vegas.

To continue from above .. Making a Living is a moving target, only you can decide what 'living' equates to.

Can you turn a profit playing poker in 2022? Yes, I believe you can ..
Can you build a bankroll and move up in stakes? Yes, I believe you can ..

One advantage of Vegas is that you can play in various locations that are all fairly close. With some time put in you can also 'move around' and maximize whatever comp programs are offered and work best for you.

One disadvantage of Vegas is that there a 'a lot' of Players trying to do the same thing and you all can't be sitting at the same table every day and accomplish your goals .. see Rounders scene in NJ.

Asking 'possible' questions can be a bit eye rolling .. IF you have some natural talent .. IF you have self discipline .. IF you can manage your finances away from the table .. IF you don't go crazy in the 7th week of grinding 50 hours at the table and in study .. IF you can be in a downswing and still hold the passion for the game .. IF you can have some run good in the beginning .. then yes, a lot of 'possible' questions can have a positive result. GL

Do comps earned from playing poker go on your Player's Card or do you still have to ask for a printout if you want to use them to eat somewhere?

As of 6 months ago when I was last there, you still need a printout (unless you use one of the food runners in the room). Can't imagine it's changed.

Played for 20 minutes today in the 40 and it broke. Then played 20 minutes in the 20 and it broke. Seemed pretty dead all around, especially for an NFL Sunday

Hah I am here now too. Was about to head over after dinner to play in the 20 and saw that it broke. Probably for the best, I need to get my sleep schedule back on track. Maybe see you tomorrow before I head out!

What is the rake like at the Bellagio for 1/3 and 2/5?
Bellagio (Las Vegas, NV) Quote

It's 10% to $5 max at 1-3.

At 2-5, it maxes at $5, with a dollar taken at each of these points: 10-30-50-70-100.

The 5-10 game is a time charge, $7 per player per half hour.

No promotional drop on any games.

Do you think the time charge is a higher rake than the 10% to $5?

Only if your game is really, really slow. The games are eight handed, which means the maximum the table might be dropping is $112. The 1-3 games will generally be dropping more than that per hour, and it's more significant when compared to the size of the stakes.

Time charge games also influence the range of hands you can play, allow you to splash around in small pots more. Heads up and blind vs blind hands also become more playable in time games.

Time charges could be made high enough that they are worse than rake, but I don't know of any that actually are that high (in legitimate US) casinos.

Rake tends to be cheaper in mix games. At least if the action is any good. But you're right if just thinking about holdem or one-winner omaha.

Oh yeah, if you're playing games that take 5 minutes per hand like super dramaha double board razzbadeucey then rake probably is better.

Anyone know if they are going to put tables into the Sportsbook this year during the WSOP? (I believe they didn't do that last year, right?)

Unaware of any plans to do so. Can confirm that there were no tables in Sportsbook during WSOP last year.
