Apparently the bad beat that was over $500k has been hit. Does anyone know if it was here or harrahs and when it hit?

In the past you could play a certain number of hours and get free parking. Is that still the case at bally's? How many hours of play will get me free parking?
Thanks.

was playing for 15 minutes and got lucky to hit casino share.

also, to answer other questions, they are liberal about the free parking pass.
2 hours and they will gladly hand you one..

So I noticed on bravo that Dan's name is no longer listed (except on showboat's bravo, which for some odd reason is still up). I know someone posted here that they were doing away with the director of poker position.

I think its a shame since the position was only created a little over a year ago and it seemed like he was doing a decent job overseeing the 3 properties.

Does anyone know where Dan is now?

When I read your post, I checked Bravo. Frank Martire is the Bally's poker room manager. Harrahs does not list anyone at the moment.

You can get both, however the rooms are limited to availability, so no guarantees at all. The buffet is not so limited.

Some folks justify (correctly or not) to themselves that the competition is soft enough that the $2 drop is worth paying.

I thought 4+2 = 6 therefore 20*2(or more) - 6 = 34 there for risking 20 to win 14? Or am I missing something

One buck is for the BBJ, the other is for the 500$ hourly (during certain times, 11a-11p, Sat-Thur) high hands. No drop specifically for the buffets and rooms given away.

As opposed to playing elsewhere, where the risk is $20 for a win of $14? Is the $1 really that big of a deal for you? Consider the free buffet, plus the possible free rooms, plus the high hand and/or jackpot money you might get......

Seriously, what are you basing your complaint on??

My bad... Just didn't figure to add that into the rake argument since it isn't "mandatory" and no before anyone comments I do tip

It really depends on when you play. If you plan on taking advantage of the buffet and room and you play during the high hand periods, it's worth it.

If you plan on stopping in for 3 hours when the high hand isn't in effect, it isn't worth it.

Hi Fuark,

I think most people will agree that Harrah's rooms are nicer than Bally's. If you are going to stay in Bally's, I recommend requesting the Dennis Tower room over the Bally's Tower room. According to Bally's, the Bally's Tower has the nicest rooms, but I think the Dennis Rooms are nicer (they're more modern). I always stay at the Waterfront Tower in Harrahs, so perhaps anything less than that tower may change my opinions on Harrahs.

Comps can be used at both casinos. Bally's will always have several Super 1-2NLs running during the weekdays, Harrahs may not be as definite.

I will be playing Bally's 1-1 tonight. Me and the GF have a room at Caesars. We haven't been to AC in a couple months so I'm very excited. If you're a regular at Bally's you'll probably recognize us making our return (the GF is a little loud and therefore well known I would imagine). If you think you spotted me (or her), please feel free to mention 2+2 and say hello.

just trying to figure out which casinos (between ballys and harrahs or maybe a combination of both) and how i can take advantage of their comps i.e. staying for free with a buffet and playing sun-thurs. i was worried it might be hard to get the hours in if they don't always have a game running.

People can and DO make the hours on a daily basis at both casinos

I have a question on this. I know many years ago i went to ballys to play some poker, it was 1/3nl and i recalled after playing just 1 hour, you could print a ticket at the kiosk for a free buffet. Many ppl at the table mentioned this and i didnt know about it so i just went and printed the ticket.

I see ballys has the offer for a free room and free buffet as well. 4 hours if you play poker and 1 more hour for a free buffet.

Do you have to use it on the same day? Thus if you play the hours... do you have to use the free room if its available that day and does the free buffet ticket expire that same day or is it 24 hours? I know last time i printed a voucher but dont recall if i coulda kept if for the following day etc.

For the rooms, how much does it cost for taxes? i belives room is comp but its $13 taxes? That was what i was few years ago when i went there. Also i assume one cant play 8 hours for the day then get 2 nights in a room comped so basically you will have to check in and check out if you want to stay 2 plus nights straight there thus you have to play hours first then check in then check out?

Im wondering if you could play 5 hours a day for few days then save those buffet tickets for next day.. which i assume isn't allowed? And are these free buffet tickets you print out at the machine?

Newbie to B&M poker, played first time at Bally's over the weekend. Can someone explain to me the rake system at the 1-1 NL and/or other games? I didn't see the dealer taking anything aside from tips...

10% up to four dollars , at twenty they take out an additional two for jackpot-highhand , and one dollar tip which is customary. So yes a 21 dollar pot will cost 5 dollars in rake/tip

People save those tickets , personally I give them away when I play for the most part. I can't eat at a buffet more than once a week.
