That would be great but what I was saying is that the odds are really against you to be able to make a decent consistent profit through good playing. The rake takes a good percentage put of most 1-1 pots. Thus, if you lose one pot passed the flop you are looking at 3 maybe 4 average winning pots in order to get back to even...

You severely underestimate just how bad some of the players on that game are. I just got back from playing 9 hours of 1-1. I was card dead most of the night, suffered a few horrible beats on decent sized pots and ended up winning a little over $200. If I had any decent competition at all I would have probably lost 2-3 buy ins with the luck I had tonight.

I have a ticket to the TOC @ Harrah's in Dec. How many players have they gotten in the past few months. I would have to drive 4+ hrs to play and was wondering if it's worth taking the drive

I'm going to take advantage of a free room at a Harrah's property next Sunday. I had fun my last trip playing 2/4/6 at Bally's. Will this game run late into the night on a Sunday? Will it be dead by the evening as people clear out for the weekend? And it generally goes during the weekdays?

Do they run any weekday promotions? I saw a big wheel in the room last time I was there but it wasn't being used on a Saturday. Any buffet comps or anything along those lines? Do the other CET properties in AC have any good comps going?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, DoodieDoodie, Bally's does run two weekday promotions. The wheel is used on Fridays for "cracked aces" and on Mondays for High hand (quads or better). You get to spin for comp dollars ($25-$200) or a prize (hat). The comp dollars can be used toward a buffet if you like. Good luck during your trip.

Do the games run thru on Fri/Sat nights or do they usually break by 2-3am?
12-16-2011 , 01:34 AM
They run through the night, although by morning light they are of course much fewer in number.

The high hand is also on Tuesdays.

Just an update on the Bally's NL games:

The 1-1 game is now .50/hour comp rate at 17 tier credits, Buy-ins are $50-$150.
The 1-3 game is now 1.50/hour comp rate at 26 tier credits, Buy-ins raised to $100-$500
The 2-5 game is now 2/hour comp rate at 34 tier credits, Buy-ins are $200-$1000.

These new rates took effect this past Wednesday.

Promotions still remain at cracked Aces on Fridays, High hand on Mondays and Tuesdays, and BBJ offering.

Just a correction on the 1-3 game: Buy-ins are $150-$500. Sorry about the confusion.

played all weekend at ballys...was a little disapointed the games besides 1-1 broke up at like 230 am saturday

that room used to be pretty active going into the morning on weekends, iused to play till 4:30 or 5:00am when the games started to break up

Played the 1-1 game last night. I really enjoyed the room and the 1-1 format. Also, there were a number of easily fairly easy to identify calling stations at our table. The game was still going strong when I left at 5:15 this morning.

I would love to play this game again on our next trip to AC.

[QUOTE=Lovesantiques;29546667]I hope that the 1/1 game continues. It draws in a lot of players, and poker needs all of the players it can get. Plus, it's often a good game, actually, with quite a bit of action.

I couldn't agree more - the 1/1 game I played last night had tons of action all night really.

Please keep the 1/1 Ballys!

I don't see any danger of the 1/1 game going anywhere. It is one of the mainstays (if not THE mainstay) of the Bally's poker room.

Lee,

That's good to hear. Definitely want to do it again on the next trip. We stayed in Caesar's, so it was easy access from our hotel room.

The max buy in is key - gives you plenty of time to play ABC (no need for anything else in my opinion) and pick your spots while getting a read on the table.

Saw many different players buy in for the minimum only to shove within a few hands. Those are nice smaller pots to pick up to pad the stack.

Played 1/3 last night and stacked this guy twice. He was going all in blind and burning through $300 buyins like they were water. Seemed like a couple 2p2ers were at the table. Anyone there?

Nice score. I wish I could have been there.

I really love that room. The action seems great at all of their NL cash games.

I was there - in the 3 seat. Fiance on my left. I was certainly hoping for a hand against the 10 seat, but it never happened.... I take it that you were the 8 seat? With the huge pot at the end, just before the 10 seat got up and left?

Should add that I was playing at Bally's today as well. Whether it is because they pay more in comps and tier credits than the 1/2 games, or some other reason, there were 3 1/3 NL tables going (as well as several 1/1 and 2/4/6 tables) most of the afternoon, with 2 tables going as late as 1:00am and 1 table after that.

With a buy-in range of $150 - $500, I see this as becoming a more and more popular game.

I was there as well. Great action out of that guy. Too bad I was card dead and couldn't get a piece. It was a great entertainment though.

Wanted to mention also that I was playing at Bally's today and was at a great 1/3 table with lots of action. Many pre-flop raises and large pots. Looks like the new buy-in limits will be generating some action and becoming more popular.

I can live with the 15 year old standard def tv's with wavy lines and crappy color, but would it kill them to get come comfortable chairs there?

I love the 1-3 game at Bally's but rarely play there because I find it to be so uncomfortable.

Lwk, what seat were you in that night?
