If I recall correctly, you can't go the other way around though door-to-door. The route goes through the city one way or the other way.

By the way, how crazy is it that you can't find detailed jitney routes on the internet?

If you get on at Borgata and say you're going to Harrah's, they'll at least sometimes go to Harrah's first. I'm not sure if it's a regular thing, but I've seen it happen.

I'm pretty sure there is one route that goes one direction and another that goes the other direction, but the routes are confusing.

About a year (ish?) ago they basically did away with the routes. There's now just one that goes all the way (way, way) up Atlantic, then out to the Marina, then turns around and does it in reverse. No more needing to know if you want the #2 or #3 or whatever. (Though I'm not sure what you do now if you want to go to the train station.)

yeah, the 3 goes in one direction in the marina and the 2 goes the other way.

the jitney could get at least twice the amount of business they have (imo) if they put up route maps (not just a list of stops) and more importantly, put such a map and fare info on a website.

EDIT: JUST SAW SIRUP'S REPLY SO I GUESS THE 2 AND 3 DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE... WHICH IS PROBABLY EVEN MORE CONFUSING. such a good transportation option but they're handicapping themselves so much by making it near impossible for new riders to get the info they need.

It does stay very wet for a long time. I usually just walk along the street, which is only slightly longer.

I noticed that 5 10 stud game moved from Taj to Borgata. Did the 1 5 Stud game move somewhere or did it just die?

I had to laugh..I have an offer for St Pattys weekend..$300 to fly out of an airport 40 miles from me and spend 3 days at Harrah's. It's cold where I am, it's gonna be cold there, and there is a Horseshoe here with a nice poker room. I mean does that indicate they are desperate or what?

For those of you who are current on jitney routes, do they still go up to Gardner's Basin? If so, can you get there directly from the marina casinos?

Nah: non summer, they almost certainly have empty rooms - if one of the nights isn't a Saturday, guaranteed you're not displacing anyone else. Then, assuming it's a chartered flight, again they probably have some empty seats. So, they get $300 bucks in place of $0 they would have got for the empty hotel room and plane seat, plus whatever you gamble. So not desperate, just another case of low, low, low demand in that city 9.5 months a year.

Yes! I've been meaning for some time to post on here and ask if anyone knows of a source of jitney route info. I spent a lot of time once online looking for jitney info, to no avail.

There are free shuttles to/from the train station. If you take the train in to AC the shuttles are usually waiting in front of the station (sometimes you have to wait) and they go to all the casinos. For the return, they start picking up at the casinos 25-30 minutes before the train is scheduled to leave AC.

After 6 hours sitting at a table, it's good to get a little fresh air and exercise before sitting down for another 6 hours, weather permitting.

Again Rapini! I've been meaning for awhile to ask this question. I'm glad you did, and I'll second it. Can you get to Gardner's Basin from the marina or the boardwalk?

The jitneyac.com page appears not to work properly but here it is:

Routes:
http://jitneyac.com/routes.php

Wikipedia has a better entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanti...ey_Association

I'm not sure if it's still current.

I'm a little vague on the geography up there, but yes. Not all the way out to the end, but within a block or two of the inner end. They go all the way up Pacific (not Atlantic as I said yesterday) to New Hampshire and turn around somewhere around Melrose. Then back around to GN, Harrah's, Borgata. After Borgata they follow the same (ish) route back to Pacific.

Next time I do it I'll try to pay more attention (I'm getting used to it, but still a bit "where the F are we going?").

The Wikipedia thing isn't current, there's just one route now. The Jitney website's useless routes page is out of date, too. Seablue is a stop near my location indeed.

And in other news, the latest Revel sale is already on the rocks.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Gloria Burns declined Wednesday to approve, at least for a week, the third attempt to sell Revel, the bankrupt, closed albatross of a casino hotel - this one the second try with Florida developer Glenn Straub, for $82 million.

Gotcha. I would like to visit sometime to check it out, but I can wait till summer.

Seriously, there's no good reason why detailed information and maps aren't on multiple sites. It should be on the Jitney site, AC tourism sites, it should be part of the city's "DO AC" campaign. Not that having the info out there would turn the city around, but it might make people thinking of going more comfortable about knowing how to get around the city.

It's unique. You'll love it or you'll hate it. Either way, it's worth seeing once.

Even if you do not love Atlantic City, if you are somewhat serious about poker - you will love the sheer selection of games at Borgata (15 min walk or a couple minute cab drive from Harrahs).

As far as the offer goes, I am not sure they will give it to you during the Summer, unless they consider you a whale.

Hi guys, as someone who has spent many an afternoon at Gardners Basin it is absolutely worth the trip. Hurricane Sandy unfortunately wiped out the Flying Cloud Restaurant and Bar but there are now food trucks and Tiki bars along the dock area. If you have kids or even for yourself there is the Aquarium. Some of my best memories are of my son and I tying the boat up at the dock there and walking around at the shops or having lunch or an outdoor dinner. The big commercial clam boats still use that route to get in and out to the ocean. There is the fishing Bulkhead, and the view of the old Coast Guard station and Farley Marina. On display is the old Steel Pier Diving Bell that yes lol I rode on when I was a kid! Awhile back they had one of the original Miss Atlantic City wooden speedboats that used to launch from Capt. Starns pier on display in a glass and wood structure but I think they have moved it since for fear of the elements getting to it. There is the 2 man yellow submarine and surf shops, the Back Bay Ale House for Mason Jar cocktails and of course Gilchrists for breakfast before a day of fishing or any occasion...all right on the water.....speaking of fishing, some of the beast fishing charters leave from there as well. I may be in Verona now and having a blast but AC and Gardners Basin is still a big part of home!!!

Wow, thanks Frankie. It sounds incredible. I never knew there would be that much to see there. I've read a couple great reviews online for breakfast at Gilchrists and when I mentioned it on here last year a few other posters also had great things to say about it. I've been wanting to try it out. That's why I was wondering about a jitney going there. I don't want to hassle with taking a cab. I used to go to AC frequently but wasn't often there when they were open for breakfast, and I haven't been able to get to AC in the last few months, but I think next time I may have to plan to spend some time at the basin.

Nice post Frankie. Big plus one for gilchrist, and back bay ale house was my favorite bar there. Delicious jerk chicken to go with the mason jar cocktail.

Summer is definitely the nicest time to visit, however know that prices will be much different on the rooms; a room that any player with a total rewards card can get comped in March will cost $299 on a August Saturday night. Surprises/pisses off a lot of people, but just pure supply and demand.
