It'd be June 17 - 27th. 2 couples. In Vegas you can find small gated condo's a block or so from the strip. Is there anything like this near the boardwalk? Just need a pool, hot tub and grilling station. 2 bedrooms or 1 + pull out couch, w/ a kitchen. We'd prefer less people so the hotel casinos would be out. Maybe $1,500 or less for the 10 days?

I assume the boardwalk is the location to be near? I'd be a break from online poker so we'd only need 1/2 no limit drunken cash games.

I've never been to AC, hopefully I've asked all the right questions. Thanks
there are time shares and condos near the beach. you want to be near the beach. the town itself is still building itself back up. but this is the one thing ac has on vegas... a beach! if you have a car, i would suggest getting a rental in brigantine (north, closer to borgata) or margate/ventnor (south, closer to boardwalk casinos). these are nicer beach towns.

You could swing a condo/place near AC for about 1k/week. I don't know about the pool but the ocean in June is about warm enough to venture into. Definitely the kitchen and most likely a grill. Most shore towns are pretty low key relaxing during the week.

You'd want to look on craigslist/rental sites. Brigantine would be my first choice due to it's proximity to Borgata and AC. You could cab it into AC from there. After that longport, margate, ventor, and Ocean City(more kidcentric but close to ac). I would assume you're trying to fly into AC direct? Even so might look into a car rental over cabbing everywhere.

You don't want to stay in AC proper, it's more like downtown las vegas. The boardwalk is fine and good, but staying on or near it will not be what you're looking for.

Good luck if you decide to visit AC.

Thanks guys.

I live in Buffalo, a bit of a drive, but probably worth it to have a car out there.

Is this a legit 10 day vacation spot or would we see everything and have a bunch of days just chillin on the beach? Not sure that's a bad thing, just trying to get an idea of how big it is.

you'd have a bunch of days on the beach. in ac you have the boardwalk which is cool but nothing that will take a more than a couple of hours, an outdoor outlet shopping area which is really good and pretty big, the caesars pier sopping, and a small aquarium. other than that, casinos and their shows. surrounding beach towns are fun to check out for similar stuff. cape may has a victorian feel and another good shopping area. wildwood has a huge boardwalk and real classic feel to it. dolphin tours and fishing tours all over.

but it's not vegas. you'll spend most of your time enjoying the beach and normal beach area stuff.

Oh interesting, didn't realize there were two major boardwalk areas. Quick google says they are about 45 minutes apart?

Maybe it's best to stay at each place for a week. Brigantine seems to be the winner for AC, best place to look for rentals in Wildwood?

wildwood is cool beach town. pretty family friendly but lots of bars and stuff too. wildwood crest is the nicest (also most expensive). wildwood and north wildwood are still nice and a little cheaper. all same "area". i usually spend a long weekend in one of the wildwoods each summer.

pretty much every single jersey shore town has a boardwalk, but not all are as commercial with stuff to do as wildwood and ac.

FYI, woundedknee, I represent a site called ThePokerAtlas.com that lists information for pretty much every single poker tournament in North America. If you're interested in finding a good MTT, you can check there, OR you can check the tournament listings search we just launched here on 2+2 (you can get to it from any page via the "2+2 Shortcuts" section in the top-left corner).

If you have any feedback on the tool, or any questions about The Poker Atlas, drop us a line in our 2+2 forum. We're pretty damn good at responding to contact

EDIT: I realize you may have already taken your trip, but for future reference =)

I believe it's not nude, as it serves booze IIRC. IDK if that helps or hurts it's chances.

There are 2 places down towards trop that are all nude, byob(with a store next door) they aren't pretty but nothing in AC is.

I will be visiting NJ in a few weeks. During my stay I will have a night or two to play poker. I play 1/2, will be about 30 minutes from Parx and an hour and a half from Atlantic City. I’ve never played at Parx, but have at AC several times. During the week which would be better to go to? Parx or AC? In AC which room would be worth going to during the week?

Has any one stayed at the Chelsea recently? I will be going this Saturday for a fight and I used pricelines "make an offer" thing and I got a room there. Upon reading some reviews I'm not too thrilled about it to be honest....

If I was by my self I could really care less. But I will be bringing my GF and don't want her to go thru a bad experience.

Thanks for any info!

There is really no reason to drive an extra hour to play the same game. You will have plenty of games going at Parx. However, alcohol is not free there if that matters.

Chelsea is perfectly fine even with bringing gf. Waitlines for breakfast are quite long if you get up same time as everyone else.

best saturday afternoon tournaments in june on boardwalk? I read here that ballys structure is awful and caesars doesnt run. That leaves Revel and showboat I believe. . Do both run every saturday?

Hi there
I'll be in AC on may 28th evening to may 29th afternoon for 1 night with my GF. So i have a few questions:
Since we don't have a car, i assume the best place to stay is somewhere around the boardwalk. Am i right?
If so, which of the hotels there is the nicest? And at what hotel will i be able to find a 1/2 or 1/3 cg running at 29th from noon to 3pm (thats gonna be my timeframe for playing poker :-)).
Would the revel e a good option?
thanks for ur advice.
Cheers

for those dates borgata, will have best action. Revel is a nice hotel but probably won't have a game running..All boardwalk casino hotels are fine, unless you're looking for something super nice

Whatever happened to fantasy sports betting? It got approved some time in March I think -- where my bets be at?

I'm not confusing this with normal sports betting, I know that's tied up in lawsuits and what not.

How brutal do you guys think it will be getting from NYC to AC by bus this Friday? Was thinking about checking out AC for the first time this weekend but wasn't sure how swamped it will be for Memorial Day (I'm guessing it will be rough since Memorial Day is usually a pain everywhere)

What time are you thinking of going? Earlier in the day will obviously be an easier commute than late afternoon.

It was approved at the end of March but I don't know of any casino that has plans to do anything. May be they will once football season kicks off would be my guess.

Well I get off work at 3 pm so was looking at 4ish range to take the bus. Will that be hell southbound? (Sorry I'm new to area)

Maybe Saturday morning departure would be better

friday rush hour on the garden state parkway on a holiday weekend = absolute hell

the weather is not supposed to be great so it may deter some people from heading down that way but its still going to be rough
