6PM Friday Academy got $35 at Taj.

They swipe it right onto your card and it expires at 6AM. So no stockpiling to play later like I do when I get off at Bally's. The bus center at the Taj is way closer to the casino floor than at Bally's, though, so it doesn't seem like quite so much of a hassle.

Got back from my trip yesterday. Found some $3 craps at Trump Plaza but that was 6 in the am on Monday. Went back Monday evening around 8 and it was $5. Had the wife roll some and she did alright but ended up losing her buy in because of me and some other shooters. I did alright though betting the 6 and 8 though. Crushed the BJ at Bally's Monday night too until they changed the dealer and raised the limits. All in all had fun and we are looking forward to going back in the summer. Thanks again for answering my question before the trip.

You are correct but IMO they are in the best locations. Depending on your seat at Caesars, I could give the edge to them.

Thats odd they used to do $3 craps until like sat morning. Times are tough over there lol. But I have played the $3 craps and its a ton of fun being able to spread the table so cheap. I was discussing it with a craps dealer at harrahs a few months back and he was saying its great minus the sketch balls that play in that casino.

gonna be down next weekend staying at revel. My question is related to slot machines. Any opinions of higher limit slot machines that pay off? I was thinking about blowing $100 on expensive slots. Should i do like 4 lines of a $25 slot or more $1 and $5. Any machines and casinos in particular within like revel/showboat/taj/trop or borgata. All of these places i may end up in over the weekend.

Just curious if anyone has a better way then a taxi to get from the AC train station to Borgata. Thanks in advance for the help!

The jitneys are free from the Train Station.

Taxi's max out at $13. Probably won't even reach that from station to borgata.

hey guys,

I will be heading down to AC in 2 weeks(Fri,Sat) with few others.

I am looking for a nice suite to stay for 2 nights and our budget on the room is $300~$1,000 per night.

I want to stay at Borgata or Harrahs due to poker but few others prefer the boardwalk area. If I can find a nice room then I might be able to convince them to stay near Borgata.

Where to stay???

Thanks in advance!

with that budget you can stay in a suite anywhere and it will be nice. borgata and revel have nicest rooms and amenities, harrahs close second imo. but your room is going to be nice anywhere if you get a suite with your budget. so i guess it will come down to hotel amenities. borgata, revel, harrahs and caesars are the 'nice' ones.

$5 machines in the crystal room at tropicana, when I play slots I only play $5 machines and have only had luck here. you always see people winning in there

Planning a trip with a few buddies in a couple of weeks and they are interested in playing in a MTT on a Friday evening. can someone comment on the number of runners and quality of the tournments for a Friday evening at The Revel and Showboat. My friends may consider the Borgata as well - which I is a higher buy-in with a green chip bounty - but I'm guessing they my be looking for more of a "budget" tournment. (Any other MTT's on a Friday evening which are worth considering).

Thanks

IMO you have 2 decent options under $200 for Friday night, Showboat & Revel. In terms of structure & turnout, those are probably your best bet. I'm not sure about the runners but the last one I was in at Revel had about 65 players. The last one in showboat had much less, about 30 or so, but the one I played in prior had around 50. The play varies from bad to good players, but for tournies with buy ins that low, you don't expect much pro play. I personally enjoy both. Showboat has lingerie dealers & the House of Blues right outside of the room blasting music, so its more of a party atmosphere.

This is way out of date. Showboat's been getting 150-200 on Friday and Saturday nights for their 7PM guaranteed tourneys. See the Showboat thread in the B&N Venues forum for lots of discussion about these tourneys. Best low budget tourney in AC IMO.

Now that you mention it, I realize I've never been early enough on Friday to play in that 7pm, so I was referring to their 11pm tourney. 7pm would definitely be a different story, so you're probably right.

Curious ?

Anyone who has taken a Greyhound bus to AC from NY, does it leave you at the Atlantic City Bus Terminal?

It goes to one or 2 casinos (where you can get slot dollars), then the bus terminal.

What are the best poker rooms in Atlantic City? I'm visiting for the weekend and am interested in playing NLHE 1/2, 2/4, 2/5. So, anything with up to $500 buy-in. Which casinos have the best action?

The Borgata has the best action and most games than all the other casinos combined. It is one of the top poker rooms on the east coast (and possibly the number one room). It is located in the marina district next to Harrah's and Golden Nugget.

If you want to check out the boardwalk, there are smaller rooms at Caesars, Ballys, Trop, Taj, Showboat and Revel.

Trying to find a plan B if we decide not to do Vegas for WSOP again.

It'd be June 17 - 27th. 2 couples. In Vegas you can find small gated condo's a block or so from the strip. Is there anything like this near the boardwalk? Just need a pool, hot tub and grilling station. 2 bedrooms or 1 + pull out couch, w/ a kitchen. We'd prefer less people so the hotel casinos would be out. Maybe $1,500 or less for the 10 days?

I assume the boardwalk is the location to be near? I'd be a break from online poker so we'd only need 1/2 no limit drunken cash games.

I've never been to AC, hopefully I've asked all the right questions. Thanks
