Thanks man. I saw the Greyhound, which was an OK option, but it's like $35 each way and drops me at Bally's, so I then have to take the Jitney - all-in-all 4-5 hour door-to-door commute from my pad in Brooklyn...hoping to streamline the trip a bit.

$35 each way? Its that for a round trip (with casino bonus), with a lot more flexibility on when you want to come back (well minus the Brooklyn part)

But yes the buses will take 2-2.5 hours, while driving fast will only take 1.5 hours (though risking a speeding ticket)

Yeah it's pretty ideal for me too. I'm sure there's plenty of similar one bedrooms up and down the island -- my building is probably 3/4 empty since summer ended.

My lease ends either jan or feb. Who knows, maybe we can find 4-5 players to get a cool multi bedroom house. It'll be like 2 months 2 million except a lot less vegas-y

Do vampires have exceptionally strong throwing arms, or are you close to the beach?

It is. It would not be OK if you were to discuss financial arrangements explicitly--you should do that via PM or in the Marketplace Forum--but it's OK to ask people to PM you for rideshares in this forum and thread.

I think it depends on the cost and the location. I come down on weekends and might be interested in a place to stay for Saturday and possibly Friday nights. I also know another poker player that might be interested as well.

Perhaps we could create a new thread to discuss. Thoughts?

Academy buses are $36 round trip from the Port in NYC. Usually you receive a $25 slot bonus. Taj is currently offering a $40 slot bonus from NYC:

that deal won't last long..

many years ago when I was still taking the bus to AC from NY, Bally's gave a cash bonus more than the cost of the ticket

one of the regular Port Authority Bus Terminal panhandlers was on my bus and hadn't known about the amount of the bonus-when the casino greeter gave it to him he says wow I could do this for a living..she says, yeah you could,

and then the same guy and a whole bunch started just going back and forth..and they would fill the bus and no one else could get on as they would line up for the trip back to AC as soon as they got back to NY

Anyone have any ideas about what to do when taking the girlfriend down on her first trip. She isn't of age. She is 20. I've got a spa visit for her at the B, eating at Old Homestead. I was thinking sights to see or anything fun. We are going the 26th - 28th. The trapeze thing at the Taj would have been perfect but I dropped the ball and it is gone now. Any thoughts?

Amada at Revel is cooler than Old Homestead for a twenty yrs old. Personally, I think the whole Revel scene might work better for an underage person.

Fat Burger followed by a quickie in your room followed by having her rail you in a high intensity 2/4 limit game in which you nit up and constantly mutter poker cliches such as "you can't win em all" and "never count your money while you're sitting at the table"

I went to the White House for a sub a couple of days ago - first time I was there. Subs are good - and huge! But worth waiting in a long line for? I don't think so.

Temple suggests shifting comp promotion dollars towards parking/travel reimbursements. It seems that Temple is saying room/drink comps doesn't do anything to grow the AC market, but only shifts market between casinos, while other promotions may help grown the overall AC market.

I guess nothing ground-breaking.
