Hey Kat:

I checked out the room on Monday nite -- It wasn't your shift, but I had them leave a note for you. Nice Room -- I'll be back my next trip.

Hi Kat! A few days ago I booked a room for 3 nights (9/9 - 9/11) through you for the poker room rate and requested a city view. I'd like the highest floor possible (if those types of requests can be fulfilled this early). Do I need to call you and work that out with you, or is that something that would have to be handled upon check-in?

Can the 5hrs for the poker room rate be completed by multiple people staying in the room? I play 3hrs, my buddy plays 2hrs.

Thanks,

^ Yes, as long as they're registered with the hotel in the room.

Is the double comp promotion being extended or is it down to $1/hr now?

I really enjoyed my time at Aria - played in the 7pm on the 17th and ended up chopping at the final table (we went to almost 3am). The room is beautiful, service was great and of course cashing made it that much better!

How often do you get mixes (preferably including at least one of triple draw, badugi, badacey, or badeucey) going at 30/60 or under?

How is this room doing traffic wise post World Series?
What type and how many of each type of cash games are going there on a typical night?

I can field this one:

Standard night (not peak)

few (3-5) 1/3 games
couple of 2/5 games
one or two low LHE games (4/8)
a larger mixed game (can be anywhere from 20/40 to 200/400, it's really a crapshoot)
maybe something else like PLO

So they rarely, if ever get a LHE cash game larger than 4/8 going at Aria even on weekends?
Also, do the NL cash games have a capped max buy in and if so what is it?
Finally how many runners do they usually get for their daily NL tourney?
Thanks Again

I've seen 8-16 Omaha.

1-3 NL has a max cap of $300. 2-5 has a max cap of $500 or $1000, can't remember which.

Not sure about the tourneys. At least three tables most days, and often more.

I've played in this as an O8 limit game. Have they branch out into a mixed game?

They will often have a mixed game going, but the stakes are all over the place, depending on what the players want. I'd say the most "standard" is something like 20/40, but I've seen as low as 4/8, and as high as 200/400. It's usually at the higher end of that range.

Porkchop: Yes, it's rare to have a LHE game over 4/8 there, except as part of a mixed game. They're very cool about starting a list and dealing whatever you want if you have people, but LHE above 4/8 is mostly dead in vegas. Venetian and Bellagio are pretty much the only places it goes regularly.

On Sunday it was something like badugi, badeucy, crazy pineapple, stud 8 and don't know what else.

Bump.

Is the 4/8 mix still running with any consistency?

Kinda of sad to see Kat not having much of a pressence in this thread, I was hoping for big things from the aria poker room. Played there during my recent trip and was not all that impressed w/ the room - 6 months ago I would have to say I was pretty excited about the possibilities.............

Hell, the last few questions were not even answered

I had a recent experience to share regarding the poker rate. Apologize if it, or something similar, has previously been posted.

I received in the mail a promotion for three free nights at the Aria. I was heading in the Wednesday before Halloween and was told they could only give me two nights (Wednesday and Thursday) because the offer was not good for weekends. Rate for Friday and Saturday would be $169/night. I asked if I could get the poker rate for those nights of $129 and was told yes.

I played cash for about 5 hours or so Wednesday night, the $120 7 p.m. tournament on Thursday night and the tourney on Saturday night, as well. I tried to go by there on Saturday night to arrange the poker rate and might was well have been talking to a brick wall. Was ultimately told by floor manager "Just ask at checkout, they never give anyone a hard time about it."

So when I checked out Sunday morning, the girl at the front desk calls over and is told I don't qualify for the poker rate for even one night because I played mostly on the days I already had comped.

Now, let me be clear, I can't really understand the logic of this because I would have just altered my dates of play. And, based on the action I gave them, I would have been perfectly fine with getting the poker rate for even just one of the two nights.

What irked me was that no one mentioned this before checkout. I don't think it was intentional or anything, just annoying the way it was handled.

I have yet to use the poker rate at any hotel, but it seems like common sense to me that hours played outside of the "poker rate" days wouldn't apply. I can't see why they'd allow the minimum average hrs/day to drop, and let you spread 10 (12?) hours across 4 days instead of 2.

As far as not being told before checkout, this doesn't surprise me, since in a lot of the stories I hear about applying the poker rate (at any casino), the left hand (hotel desk) has no clue what the right hand (poker desk) is doing.

Sucks, pain in the ass they werent more clear with you beforehand.

One thing is for certain tough, nobody from Aria is going to show up in this thread to address it for you!
