Yes, oversized chip rule should only apply to when calling a bet and not announcing raise, or preflop, since the starting bet is the BB.

How is that an angle?

It seems a bad floor ruling more than anything else.

That's never a $10 bet and I can't imagine any of the floor guys ruling that way, especially in that game. We always throw purples in and it's always $500. It's such a common thing, if a floor guy messed that up I'd be shocked because that's REALLY bad.

Especially since that is the max bet. You can't combine a purple with another chip....

Horrible ruling.

ep makes it 30 pre flatter someone makes it 80 i call on button with 89o sb calls everyone else calls flop coms Jd10d10 we all check turn 7 i bet 165 two callers. river K checks to me I have every denomination of chips and put out a purple 500. gets back to dude he says call floor he never announced 500 thats a ten dollar bet.

floor rules its a ten dollar bet after the whole table is saying its clear I wanted to bet 500. hope game doesnt turn into an angle fest
No way it should have been ruled that way.
Who is "dude" who claims its a $10 bet, i am really curious who the floor was as well , PM me, no names in threads.

yeah that's a terrible ruling. Exact same situation happened to me there a month ago but it was a tournament. I bet a single 1k chip on the turn with blinds 100/200. Some guy asked if the bet was 200 and everyone including the dealer said no, it's 1000. I would have argued for a long time with the floor if they tried to tell me I bet 200.

That's so mind-bogglingly ridiculous. So if you put out just 1 chip doesn't matter what it is, your bet = $10? Wtf... .so you bet out a single $100 and your bet = $10 always?

I would have never stopped arguing with the floor.

horrible floor decision, but protect yourself, announce your bets, esp. in spread limit.

I refuse to sit w/ you in a 20/40 game if everytime you bet you say "20" or "40".

Obviously saying "raise" is good, but if you can hold 16 chips in your hand, no need to even say that.

No worries, I can't remember when I last played that low. Today the only words out of my mouth were "60" and "120" and "nice hand sir".

yes of course the floor upheld the horrible decision i was over 2 tables playing 2/3 and saw it all go down. the whole table agreed with "Cutchalosses" except the angler and the ******ed floor/ dealer

total shot in the dark, but I'd appreciate the Arizona regs reading:

About 4 years ago I was on a cruise ship, and played poker for the first time on it. Sat next to a kid who was probably 24-25 at the time, and a professional poker player. He gave me some good advice, and told me I should really consider pursuing poker as a hobby. He was a heavy set kid, always wore a backwards cap, and possibly a sports jersey. He told me about how he played live poker in Arizona at the 75-150 limit games, and sometimes in Detroit too. No idea where he is, if he's still playing, or anything of that nature.

I don't remember his name, either. Anyone have any ideas at all?

Appreciate any help.

Lightning Keller?

I know Thunder and he fits the bill but I can't imagine him wearing a backwards cap. But maybe he's matured since he met you

If you are that upset, there is a chain of command in the poker room, if you get a **** foolish ruling and it matters that much to you, get the sup. If that doesn't work, get tribal gaming they are on site 24x7.

I have noticed its made the 3/5 game better but I don't play 5/10 so not sure how it affected that game... now when they change the min buy in the game will get even better!

Is lightning actually his first name...? I would have definitely remembered that. And who is thunder, is it his younger brother? Because the kid im talking about did have a younger brother that looked a lot like him that he was kind of teaching how to play poker on the cruise. This was 3 years ago, his brother was just 18 I know that.

If his brother was 18 3 years ago, it isn't the Kellers. And 3 years ago, neither Keller was exactly a fixture in the 75 game.

As mentioned, the Keller brothers names are Shawn and Thomas, and they're twins, so they're the same age. And despite my memory telling me that they both must be 33 or so now, their 31st birthdays are on Thursday. Thomas' gastric bypass was at least 5 years ago now, so he hasn't been big for a while.

The Hendon Mob database has both thick and thin photos of Thomas, if anyone wants to stalk him... ...or Shawn, for that matter.

LMAO, I would have been pissed about the floor not knowing his rear end from a hole in the ground, getting angled is common place and should be shrugged off. Which BTW if you get the right ruling from the sup or gaming, there is no more angle...

Thanks for the help guys!

His younger brother I'm positive was 18 3 years ago, because me and him were always being carded at the table (I was just 18 too).

The guy im talking about was probably 23-25 at the time, so like 25-28 now. Honestly no idea if he plays the 75-150 game now, or if he's still alive haha. I just thought maybe there was an off chance somebody would know exactly who I was talking about, that would be pretty cool.

Well, at least it made you $10. Guessing he's not calling a purple.

Either way, sounds like there's something definitely wrong with the story, I've never seen anything CLOSE to that ever happen or be called.

i wish something was wrong with the story.. but it was two players left in the hand and one person stacked off to me with pocket AA on a qq77x board with pocket aces so I'm not really too sure if he could finda fold. dealer and floor def. misunderstood the one chip rule and I guess it has now been corrected.

And besides not being heavy set, I can't imagine Luke wearing a sports jersey with backwards cap. But Luke is also one of the nicest guys in the world, and the advice sounded like something Luke might gently say.
