Anyone do the math on how much goes into the jackpot account? Is the difference all the football promotions and state championship addition? Can it be the qualifiers?
The big difference, as demonstrated back when the Fort and CAZ were battling over BBJ's is the seed or starting money. Many rooms start their jackpots with a lot more money.

Another factor with CAZ is the number of tables, if you have 10 tables versus ~50 tables, the ~50 table room is going to see more frequent wins, never allowing the BBJ to grow with time.

If I remember right CAZ's BBJ starts with something like $5K and gets $2500 added to every two hours except overnight when they freeze it, correct me if I am wrong.

The good news is that with 5x the tables, it should go up 5x faster!

Oh, wait...

The answer is that the "jackpot" money isn't jackpot money. It's promotional money. And by promotional money, they mean "overlays on tournaments" and "football money" and anything else they "give" to the players. (And see elsewhere in this thread for a reminder that tournament overlays don't include the juice taken for the tournament.)

The point is, that $2 is robbed from left and right. So little of it makes it to the jackpot that they should be ashamed of themselves.

...but we're sheep, so they don't care.

Ask yourself, are jackpots twice as big as they were when it was $1 dropped?

Why not?

Oh...

I played 2/5 for the first time this weekend since they changed from 5/150, and everyone at the table, dealer included, were unhappy with me.

When I bought into the game, I bought in with 460 red and 40 white.

I use the white for a) blinds b) tips and c) raises

After I use them for c) raises a few times I am politely asked to please keep my opening raises in $5 increments, since no one else at the table has $1 chips except for the dealer, so he is having to make change left and right.

After I raise to $17 preflop again, the dealer almost reaches across the table to color up my whites.

If I'm there the next time you sit in that game call me over and we'll both use whites.

Thats where you were going.

The game seemed pretty quick, but I was a bit hungover.

It has to be quicker than 3/6 limit, 1/2 spread and 4/8 Omaha.

And, if I raise to 17 and the SB calls...NO CHANGE MADE

If I raise to 17 and a different player calls, and change is made for that player...THE DEALER DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE CHANGE FOR THE RAKE.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG IM SLOWING IT DOWN

I was talking about your penchant for wearing wrap around sunglasses, WPT hat, and oversized headphones, while you stare down your opponent for 60 seconds every hand before folding.

Edit: Sorry, wrong Pope. I was thinking of Benedict XVI.

I haven't seen this first hand, but no reason for this guy to lie...

Hey ! I just got back from a short morning session and discovered that i they are playing poker players $55 ( some a bit more) .

You have to take your players card over to the players club desk with your ID, if you have swiped your card , even just once since the new place has open, you get a voucher for $55 that you can take right over to the cage.
Several people got $60 and several others talked about getting in the $80 and $90 dollar range, but they were slot players as well ( one was a dealer).
It looks like they are trying to get something done for they players, system still isn't working as it should though.

Free money anyway ! : )

If you swiped your card at least once since April 15 then you get credited with $55. Oddly enough they don't seem to have it advertised anywhere and even one of the people at the player's club didn't know about it until the manager came and showed him what to do.

I asked about when the comp system would be up for real and what the rate would be and the floor person said he had no idea.

I've had many dropped purples returned to me at CAZ, it was about time I finally learned my lesson. The floor said that when they checked the tape it was clear that the little bag with the purples was partially hanging from my pocket, but when I moved tables they lost the angle. I think it probably dropped when I went for a walk in the Casino.

Do they consider comps as "promotion" and pay for it with the jackpot drop?

I don't think so. The promotional fund went up another 10K or so since yesterday. It should be down a bit tomorrow bec a 17+K JP was hit while I was there today.

I checked and it turns out I got $55 on my card. That's about 10cents/hr. Whooppeeeeee..........
