Sweet, it hit within 30 minutes of me leaving!

It was kind of sad there was only one 20 game going but a lot of 20 players were playing the smaller games.

Yes, the games are interesting when the jackpot is high. The 8-16 was a combination of regular 8-16 players, 20-40 players, and a few people who usually play 3-6/4-8/2-3 who just happened to get called for 8-16 before anything else (and a ton of people I've never seen before.)

It's interesting to see the strategies employed by the other players. Some will play almost any suited connector/small pair for any amount preflop in an effort to hit the jackpot. Others will fold every hand except big pairs and big aces in an attempt to stretch their chances as much as possible. Others seem to sit out every other orbit...I guess they are just going for a table share? Overall, I'd say the games are pretty darn good despite the influx of a few good players from the 20-40 game.

So after my 13 hours session at CAZ yesterday, I show up at Wild Horse today. 3rd hand...table share $400. 2 hours later, another table hits it. There were maybe 8 cash game tables going during this time.

CAZ has 3/6 AND 4/8?

Yes, and they used to have 6/12 and 8/16 as well. But 6/12 fell by the wayside.

Edit: NOOOOOOO, the yellow warning sign is gone

If you show up at 10:55, there will be no line. If you show up at 11:10, you'll be in line for 10 minutes. Late reg typically closes ~noon.

How do they check that?

For the daily 11:15 tourney, they give out two stamps for the extra chips, 300 for one and 1000 for two. The first is given a little after 9 and the second is given sometime between 10 and 10:30. The stamps are put on your tourney registration ticket.

Random Q from a live newb :
If I forgot to announce my raise preflip and put in a $5k chip ($1200 bb) and dealer says call.
Can I correct her or does it stand as a call?

Yeah that's what I figured - I felt like such a dumbass I told her I intended to call.

First live MTT ever and man the cards at my table were nuts. Fun tourney.

Same guy goes all in with KK v AA pre and hits a set both times, then gets all in 3 ways on turn with JJJ over 333 and a guy holding KK, river brings a king.

Went out With 22 vs AA and we both flopped sets.

Just wondering, what kind of people do play in the mornings on weekdays? Retirees? Unemployed people? Students? Poker pros? Though I doubt any pros are playing at CAZ to get extra chips for a high rake $50 tourney.

Pretty much retirees and people who have jobs that allow them to play then. Some students or other people who 'grind' the tourneys.

There are also pros playing at that time, but that is the 20/40 and higher games that get started in the AM (or went all night). They aren't playing for the chips for the tourney though.

How do u regs keep from having lower back pain from sitting in those chairs all day?
I only lasted for 5 hours in the tourney and my back was killing me for the rest of the day.

Let me get this straight. The guy who had a set of Jacks and lost to the King on the river also sucked out with KK vs AA all in preflop twice? Because if that is so, I need to do some needling, because he told me his bad beat story yesterday at our 20/40 game, but didn't tell me he got lucky twice.

The meal tickets are back to being good for only 5 days and the servers are checking the date. Mine was out of date, I go to the board and ask for it to be updated, board monster says no, I rip it up and throw it into the air, board angel calls me back and gives me a new one. What a place.
