Min-raise profitability Min-raise profitability

Since it can be profitable to min-raise certain hands at stack level of 11(?) to 14bb, how do we figure out if it's more profitable than going all-in?

Can this be done with ICMizer or other program rather than doing it with pen and paper?

I would like to learn this but I'm not sure where to begin...

Thanks!

in general most of the players do not flat cause of the stack sizes

when you minraise value hands you can enduse worse hands to shove/resteal from you
when you minraise with marginal hands you can get away when someone shoves and you think you are beat or after some crazy action

Yeah I'm aware but I was just thinking that it is important to know which one becomes more profitable at certain points. Obviously you'd want to do the one that becomes more +EV. :O

you can get reshoved light with your good hands, u force habitual callers to play bad hands from the sb/bb oop, its cheaper to steal and you depolarise your range. when u do it is up to you based on your hand strength, your image, the players to act behind, your or table dynamics. there is no maths or programme that can do this as there are so many variables and reasons for doing it involved

Your question is somewhat bigger than you might think.

What is the better strategy overall min or shove?
What is the better option for my hand min or shove?
These two questions are very different but equally important to understand.

Min raising as a strategy will generally be more profitable because we can open a wider range and take advantage of more +ev spots.

Sometimes we will find spots that, in a vacuum (not worried about regs), will be more profitable to shove than min raise.

We can find these spots by comparing min raising vs shoving in an icm program.

There is sometimes medium strength hands that do slightly better as a shove than a min raise, but usually min raise opening will be the superior strategy.

Unsure how to do this in ICMizer. The shove is easy but how will I find out if the minraise is more profitable by using it?

you find the ev of a shove. Then find the ev of a min raise in the same spot and compare them.

Min raise, can be min/fold or min/call. But either way you want the total ev for the hand.

Not sure exactly how icmizer works (i use the HR nash calc), but you want the total ev of each spot and then compare them.

Minraise with good ones to induce reshove with avarage hands.
Minraise with avarage hand when you have stack to fold.
Push with avarage when you dont have stack to fold.
Push with premiums in late position against regulars (they see it weaker than minraise)
