Downswing question Downswing question

apologies if this has been covered before but i searched it and didn't find much
i just have a few questions regarding downswings as im coming out of one thankfully but had a few qquestions regarding them

what is a common downswing in 90 man turbos?

when should you worry its your game that's at fault and not a downswing?

basically what are common downswing and what are not and how regularly do they happen or is that too vague of a question???

thanks

I have only played 230 $1 90 man turbos but over that micro sample my biggest downswing went from $108 @ 135 games to $80 @168 games. That´s 33 games with a loss of $28.

I guess there is no limitation to how big the downswings can get, the most important thing is to always analyze your game, looking for leaks and how to improve your game, and then implement it when you are at the tables.

It´s a hard work to improve your game but even harder to handle the bad times.

Btw, what buy-ins are you playing at? The higher the buy-ins and the larger the field the bigger the downswings, but ofc the higher the rewards get to

im playing the 1$ 90 man and a few 2.50$ 180s but mostly the 1$ 90 mans as i want to get a decent sample size at them before moving to 180s. iv got a 40% roi at the 1$ but i know that wont last and was prob running really good at the start

just wanted to see what 'standard' downswings ppl have experienced and when downswings become more than just variance

I would say 60-70 BI downswing should be standard, maybe even more.

pretty much this^

Use replayer, sngwiz, pokerstove etc
Go through HH with more experienced friends (if u have such a thing).
If you come across tough or interesting spots-mark in HEM and analyse later or post em here.

Guess all of this has been said numerous times b4 but a reminder can't hurt.

150-200 bi downswings not uncommon (with me anyway).

gl on your adventure

You should always worry its your game - even when you're in an upswing!

between 150 to 200 is standard an will occur often.

Downswings happen and you can't control them.

What you can control is the quality of your play. Never be satisfied with it; there is always room to improve.

Depends on whether you are multitabling really, with full concentration I think your variance will be lower but you have a higher frequency.

Hi guys,

is it possible to loose in the long run with positive chipwinnings and bb/100? I'm down 170 BI over 2k games for the month and really questioning myself right now...

From HM-Reports:

Hands: 114k
Winnings: -197k
$ (EV adjusted): 485k
bb/100: 1.89
EV bb/100: 2.82

Obviously lots of variance, but can I be sure to be a winning player with these numbers and just keep grinding without completely changing my game?
