I find myself in this spot all the time, should this just be a pre flop fold? Every time it happends I'm like damn I should have planned for this..

With the size of the stacks behind you, you need to be ready for this a lot of the time if you elect to min raise. If you min raise you are likely calling the small stacks and folding to the big stacks.

As a result I like to jam or fold pre.

In the spot you are in you are getting 2 to 1, so it's a call for me.
