Think given depth of blinds at the time I decided to limp button, maybe this is terrible maybe r/f is better but I don't think formulating a BTN limp strategy is bad at all, I think there are better hands than K8 to do it with though.

Don't like it here.

sb will call fairly often and when he does BB will shove pretty often, (Early stats but hes not a nit )

I would 2x here with k8o its to strong to fold from button and not strong enough to trap with and to discombobulated to want to see a flop with wide ranges.

From title I guess if sb calls bb shoves you intended to call?

But heh who am I to argue we got in on the right side of a cooler happy days.

Mmm, I plan to limp call vs BB based on the fact he's likely not a nit.

I do prefer just 2.2x/f here.

Why would you ever prefer a button limp over a minr?

Do you mean in this spot specifically or regarding open limping from the button in general?

No in general.

I don't do it very often but in some situations I do. When stack sizes and player types align with the stars lol.

ok I will give 1 example of when I do this.

Say I'm on the Butt with a strong hand. Sb is very lappy and the BB is tag reg. If the sb is lappy I will have probably tried out a limp stab from when I'm in the sb on him. So bb will have observed me open limping from the sb. I have 24bb sb has 12bb and bb has 10bb. If I think SB is going to throw in the 0.5bb fairly often and bb is going to squeeze shove hands I dominate fairly often. then I can limp for value with a strong range. If things don't go to this plan I'm still going to see a flop with an under-repped hand in position.

Game flow and table dynamics as well as stack sizes have to be ideal for me to deviate from raising from the button. I limp from the sb much more often then from the butt but I'm sure better players then me probably open limp more often from the button as they will identify more opportunities to deviate from the more standard raise.

Of course if they do it more often then they should balance it which gets more complicated and they will probably have to use split ranges. I don't do it often enough that I feel I have to be balanced.

Any one open limp from the button more frequently going to shed some light on it for us?
